I think you're grossly exaggerating the political merit of the banner if you think telling people to get to * is challenging inequality in society. That's just fanciful.

People seem to think the GB is a new phenomenon at Celtic Park. The truth is they are a microcosm of what 90% of the Celtic support used to be.

I'm not saying the GB are the only fans in attendance with the views they display but they do invoke the Spirit of The Jungle, if you like.

For people to get irate at a banner telling Tories and Tory lovers to get to * - especially those who use Irish Republicanism when it suits - is one * of an idiotic hill to die on.

    * the Tories, * "sir" Rod Stewart the Tory, Sun City/Israel playing * and * every Tory in the Celtic boardroom.

A club open to all? I don't think so. I would fire them all into the Irish sea

There are certainly more eloquent and illustrative ways of showing the misery that Tory policy has wreaked on society but a message on a banner needs to be short & sweet.

I may be optimistically thinking it will have more impact than it actually does. It's something that's relatively hard to quantify but it's certainly more impactful than sitting on your hands doing nothing.

I'd like to know this as well and if he does get a free ticket but you know what it's like - Someone has probably just decided this is true and that's that, it also makes it easier to slate him then as well. Imagine if it was discovered we may have/had players who had voted tory ... that would blow a few minds I suspect :giggle1:

You are the strangest SNP supporter I've ever come across.

Shouldn't be surprised at your confusion considering you couldn't figure out which team you supported in teh 80s

It would be the most bizarre tweet if he wasnt a Tory don't you think?

He also thought Enoch Powell was a great man and that this island would be better off if the immigrants went home.

Fairly cut and dried I would imagine.

We’re not really qualified to dismiss or denigrate someone else’s charitable actions. Any form of fundraising for charity is better than non. Only he will know the real intent.

I can see why it looks that way, but he is a bit of loose cannon and I wonder if it just fitted his rhetoric for that tweet, which I doubt he thought long and hard about. Just a thought that crossed my mind if he had explicitly said anything previous.

I didn't know that was his views on immigrants. That's not very nice.

Leaves a sour taste of him jumping on the Grace bandwagon.

Rod Stewart supported the anti-immigrant Tory politician, Enoch Powell ("I think Enoch is the man … This country is overcrowded. The immigrants should be sent home").

The way I see it the club is technically open to ALL in the sense anyone can be a supporter.

But not everyone is entitled to be part of the supporting community.

It's open to all in the sense that if you turn up, watch the game and go home you are a supporter.

If you put yourself out there as a supporter of policies/beliefs that fly on the face of the clubs ethos then be prepared to be called out.

The GB know this fine well, which is why they take the flak coming their way when they put themselves out there.

I don't understand how anyone could disagree with them on this issue but they at least have the balls to stand by their principles.

Rod Stewart is a rebel singing knight of the empire who played sun city during apartheid, played Israel while the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians was/is going on and openly tweets congrats to the most vile Tory government in 35 years.

If he wants to put himself out there like that then the Celtic support has the democratic right to tell him to * OFF

Hi uber, good of you to hang about waiting on me posting, as you can see I'm still attempting to reach your high standards of uberisism but with your insight I'm sure I will also reach the pinnacle like you have done :50:

Unfortunately I wasn't at today's game, did you enjoy it.

Yea as a 'supporter' I do my own wee bit in whatever way the party requires, more should try and get involved and help shape the country rather than endlessly just talk about it..

Fair enough, I can see what you're saying but I still think there's a duplicity to doing charity work raising money to fight inequality while openly endorsing politics that perpetuate it.

I bet you vote Tory. You have that stench about you. Always looking down your nose at folk.

Amazing that we found common ground for a while back in an old mafia game... You just exude arrogance and superiority though. It seeps into every post like some venerial disease.

I'm putting you on ignore because you just come across as a troll.

If I voted tory I wouldn't deny it and I certainly wouldn't deny it to you ffs, but I don't, so once again you lose.
