Honestly thought since his first game, he’s the left back version of VVD.

Absolutely looks comfortable on the ball.

Was unlucky not to get a couple of goals.

He could have scored twice and put it on a plate for Eddy, Tam and Griff.
Even when they doubled up on him, he still skinned them.
I am so excited every time he gets the ball.

Telling you when he starts getting goals the whole world is going to be looking at him. Man City probably didn't realize what they had and sold him off with a touch of arrogance! PL is deffo rubbing his hands as this bhoy is the steal of the century! He's absolutely electric.

I feel he's more of a right back version of Messi myself :giggle1:

Heading in to watch game yesterday, said to my mate that its a long time since I have been so excited about one of our players. His run yesterday, from a standing position on touchline, to the by line and a sublime cut back for Tam, was outstanding, explosive. How the * Tam missed it.
I bet every left back in SPL is bricking it.

JEREMIE Frimpong credited Celtic legends of past and present for helping him settle into the team and make the impressive impact that he has in the Hoops recently.

The Dutch full-back picked up another Man of the Match award for his performance in Celtic’s 4-0 win against Livingston yesterday (November 23).

Frimpong made only his sixth appearance in professional football when Neil Lennon named him in the starting XI to face Livingston at Paradise, but the 18-year-old showed no signs of inexperience as he entertained fans with his attacking and defensive work on the right flank.

Speaking to the media after the game, Frimpong said he was only focused on doing what came naturally to him.

“When I get on the pitch I just try to do what I do best - attack defend and try to help the team out as much as I can,” he said. “Hopefully I can keep that going. I’ll keep working hard and hopefully the manager will put me in.

“When you want to play at the top you can’t be shy, you have to go and play. That’s what I’ve been trying to do. I’ve been ready for it all my life. When I drive down the wing I have a clear mind. I focus and block everything else out.”

The Hoops full-back credited his captain, Scott Brown, for helping his development and revealed a former Celtic right-back had also helped him settle into the role.

“Everyone’s been helping me but Scott Brown has been helping me a lot," he said. "He’s given me confidence by telling me to keep doing what I’m doing. He said no one can live with me, so go and show the fans what I can do.

“I knew Scott Brown was a good captain. I heard that a lot coming here. When he plays he always gives 100 per cent and I knew being in his company would help me a lot, so I’m grateful for that.

“I spoke to Danny McGrain at Lennoxtown when I first came and he helped me a lot too with his advice. I was a winger when I was younger. That was at under-15s and then the coach moved me to full-back. I love it there so it’s good and I’m really happy.”

Frimpong was recently recognised for his Celtic performances with a call-up to the Dutch Under-20 national squad. He admitted he was delighted for the opportunity but added his focus was only on the next Celtic game.

“When I got the call-up to the under-20s squad I was really happy,” he said. “I’m just going to keep doing what I’m doing and hopefully I get more call-ups.

“I’m looking forward to Ross County now because I’m not registered to play against Rennes due to the circumstances. I’m going to support the boys here on Thursday night and then focus on Ross County.”

Surprised by that, Dembele, KT, Eduardo, Sinclair, Christie, James, MJ, VVD, wanyama, to name a few I would have thought fell into that category for most people.

The boy is a star. What’s the rumoured sell on clause for city? If he signs a new contract , any way of removing this?

30% I doubt it can be removed unless they have someone like joey Barton negotiating for city. Hopefully it doesn’t matter. :84:

It won't be in the boys contract, will be in the contract between clubs so will remain.
Rumoured at 30% sell on but at the cost of the player there was littrisk in signing him so understand why celtic accepted the big sell on.

KT and Mikey people had seen in reserves, so people had an idea how good they would be. MJ also took a while to fit in. Frimpong has come in with no senior games and nobody had seen him before. He has been amazing, this is how good he is after 4 Pro games. What will he be like in a year or 2? Also for a few years our right back options have not been great.

Not sure why you’re trying to misquote me.
    He said
“It’s been a long time since I have been excited by one of our players”

It doesn’t matter if they played for Barcelona & came to us or came through the reserves, if they excite you then they excite you.

I should add Rogic & could add kris Commons (the *) to the list.
The players I mentioned are exciting.
