Was a pathetic excuse for a ref. The fouls against Frimpong were ridiculous.

Celtic sensation Jeremie Frimpong has been given the nod to join the Netherlands under-20 squad for their upcoming match against the Czech Republic.

The right-back has garnered acclaim for a series of rampaging attacking performances where his pace and trickery down the right and vivacious, effervescent personality has endeared him to the Hoops ' support.

The 18-year-old was signed to little fanfare on transfer deadline day in a deal from Manchester City - where the player had spent his entire youth career.

Frimpong has three caps at under-19 level but an appearance would mark his first at the higher age group.

Neil Lennon has been quick to sing the praises of his young star and the impression he has already left in the East End of Glasgow.

He said: "I think there's a bit of a love affair going on with him and everyone. We're just really enjoying him and you can see that energy and quality he brings to the team.

He's having a fantastic time of it and long may that continue.

"It's not just about individuals, the team and the squad have been outstanding for the last six or seven weeks."

He looks like a real quality player. Fantastic going forward and surprisingly strong defensively.

    One to watch.

We need to be really looking at what else clubs like man city can offer us.. these clubs have the best underage talent that rot away in the u23s etc. What we can offer players like frimpong is a realistic way into senior football and playing and developing consistently. Dembele edoaurd frimpong hopefully O'Connor all massive success stories for us

Hopefully more of the young talent have the same attitude and want to do the same as Frimpong.

There is too many who are willing to just rot away in the background because of the money they are on unfortunately.

Did Ntcham come from city too?

When a handful of clubs hoover up all the talent, then it’s defo a good shout to show them we can take them on and really move their career forward!

We seem to have a good relationship with Man City, long may it continue. Paddy Roberts also, Nicham, Jerry Pong,
Even Boysta, we could/should have got a wedge for him but we screwed it up.

We have got Ratboy and his pal to thank for the Boyata situation. Ratty threatening to quit if Boyata was sold cos his buddy was too incompetant to get a replacement. Never forget that eejit Congerton hanging about Lennoxtown deadline day last summer.

Yea, that circus cost the club the guts of 10M. And agree, all came about because of no planning ahead.

Doesn't Lawwell's son Mark work at City? I'm sure there's a reason we have strong ties with them.

We've had good dealings with Man City, should be trying to get more deals similar to Frimpong 17-19 year olds on the cheap. If a boy of that age asks to leave them for first team football they probably will let them go on the cheap. It's only once people have played a bit of first team football and proved themselves that you end up needing to pay £4/5/6million for them. If we loaned Frimpong we'd probably be needing to pay £5million to keep him now.

    Boyata
    Denayer
    Frimpong
    Ntcham
    Roberts
    Guidetti

Worst player we've had off them is Guidetti who was decent.
