Three of us up the field with the matches from the kitchen ( nae fancy gas ignition buttons in them days , twin tub washing machine near shakin oot the door , pulley let down to hang the washing on in the kitchen ) so anyway we light a * an I have a sook … near coughed my lungs up , never touched a * again in my life , 2 wee brothers dragged away like vetrans and both lifelong smokers .

There was two dookits on our street about 30 yards apart, the doo fleeing used to draw quite a crowd on a sunday when one loft would let out a doo and the other a hen to see who could catch and keep the others bird, there was no end of fights and fall outs between the doo flee'ers. there was a shop in Springfield road where all the buying and selling of the doos took place.

Is it just me that remembers a time when you didn't put 'an' before certain words begining with 'h'?

"An historic moment" I don't remember ever being taught that and I left school in 91.

It's also incredibly annoying. Anyone who uses that is immediately marked down as an untrustworthy *.

The guy who owned it's brother stayed up my close. He used to 'flee his doos' from the loft in the close. We stayed 'tap dancer' but his cages etc were above our next door neighbours. His boy was always putting his foot through the ceiling. That caused many an arguement. We thought it was as funny as *

Aww my mum used to decorate the house with those things!! Sadly no longer with us but they definitely take me back and remind me of her.
She also used to hang the shiny flimsy ones that went from corner to corner on the ceiling. Lost count how many were pieced together with cellotape after me and my brother kicking a soft ball about!

I used to put a kwenchy cup in the back of my brakes to make it rattle when on my bike. Also used to have a wee motorbike rev thing on my handlebar. Also a yellow tennents lager circle thing in my spokes. Hated them spokies that slid up and down with a passion
