I remember when I was a wee boy back in the 60s I had the job of going to the fish van that used to come to the scheme a couple of days a week, when I came home from school on a Friday my ma would give me a note to take to the van asking for tick as my da wouldn't be home with the wages until later in the day,the following week i'd be given another note with the money wrapped in it for the fish from the previous week, and repeat when Friday came again.

Oh you weren't alone a lot of folks knew all about tick. My mum had a wee account in the local shop. Every penny was a prisoner in those days.

We were never in. It is odd to think that all kids entertainment is in the house now. Playing in the street made us creative, taught us right and wrong and made leaders of some of us. You learnt how to get along with others and to survive the little adversities. Imagine a world suddenly without the internet or mobile technology these kids would be lost.

Upgraded to a plain no brand bomber for 1st year

Finally in 3rd year I made it up the ladder and got that elusive schott bomber

I was watching the antiques roadshow last week and a lassie brought a book with dried fern leaves etc in the pages, there was also a few posh scraps in there too,i remember my sister and other lassies used to collect and swap scraps with each other, did any of the ghirls on here collect them?

Took ages before my mum eventually got me a pair of Eclipse jeans, similar to below but had 3 wee spliffy dudes on the pocket.
