Who do we have to thank for bringing him to the club? Was it Ronny?

Aye it was. We have a lot to thank Ronny for tbh. Gave McGregor and Tierney a chance, brought Ajer and Armstrong here and Christie as well I think?

Paddy Roberts came here under Ronny too albeit only on loan, but it was an 18 month one. Denayer was another loan under him.

Wouldn’t argue with that mate he can certainly spot a player that’s for sure.

I don't know, mate. I think Conte just spotted a weakness in his game and took ruthless advantage. I think it would have happened anyway TBH.

After that, more and more managers started cottoning on and targeting him. That first goal by Juve... that high ball with the wee nudge... a few months later John Sutton was doing it to him. Efe never really recovered.

Also the Dembele deal started under Ronny. Was the first one to sort Forrest's constant injuries out (I think they changed his running style or something), allowing him to blossom into the player he is now. IIRC he was also the one that started the whole players going to the fans after every match thing.

I miss Ronny. Lovely guy, excellent coach, good eye for a player too. Woeful tactician. :54:

I think so. I'm not an expert on sports science by any means; I just seem to remember it was something like that. It's possible my memory is wrong. I've heard of similar things, though, so I guess it's possible.

Gregory Dupont got an extra yard of pace out of McGeady when he was working with him, was visible on the park at the time. Confirmed by Aiden himself.

Guys a genius, just wish we could have kept him. He ended up back at Lille then was a major part of Deschamp’s France and now Madrid have pinched him I think.

KRISTOFFER AJER could be a doubt for Celtic’s opening Europa League clash with Rennes after revealing he will be missing for at least two weeks.

The Norwegian defender has been forced to pull out of his country’s Euro 2020 double-header against Malta and Sweden after picking up a groin injury in Celtic’s thumping 4-1 win at AIK Stockholm in the Europa League last week.

Hoops boss Neil Lennon had insisted Ajer had a chance of playing in the Old Firm encounter, but he didn’t make the squad.

And the injury is set to keep Ajer out for a couple of weeks.

He said: “I’ve been told I have to rest for two weeks.”

That means he will miss Celtic’s next league game at Hamilton Accies and would be touch and go for their opening Europa League match in France against Rennes.

Norway boss Lars Lagerback admitted the loss of the 21-year-old was a big setback for them.

He said: “Losing Kristoffer is not ideal.

We have now had to bring in another defender and will have to change what has been a settled and successful defence.

“At international level, continuity is very important and everyone knows Kristoffer has matured into a top player for club and country.”
