I see Celtic have signed Elyounoussi. Southampton paid £16 million for him last season and looking on the thread about him the vast majority of Celtic fans seem very happy with this signing.

Lennon recently said he would like 3 to 4 more signings. Some people seemed to go into a meltdown because these signings didnt miraculously appear out of thin air the moment after he said it.

Well Elyounoussi will be the 4th signing since he said it after Afolabi, Forster and Bauer. It looks very much like we will also have a LB signed before the transfer window closes bringing the total to 5 since he made the 'outrageous' suggestion that we are looking to bring in 3 or 4 players.

Keep calm, Lennon will lead us to the title come May, mark my words.

The last few pages of arguing had me in stitches. :56:

Anyway, pleased we’ve actually done some recruiting and looking forward to seeing how the team shapes up over the season. Still feel like we need a CB and LB, maybe a DM too, but I’ll be surprised if we bring anyone else in.

No. Calling someone popcorn teeth isn't personal?

What next it was Rodgers who received death threats and Lenny who got the huge wage and then left only to give a helping hand to the monkeys

I think there might have been one person who said that? Probably was meant in jest in the same way as folk like to slag Rodgers’ oily face. That kind of stuff is par for the course, let’s be honest. Don’t be too precious about things like that.

Not a person has said a word towards Lennon which can even remotely parallel some of the hatred directed towards Rodgers .

But it’s okay when it suits your agenda, of course.

Perhaps the difference is one has been unfailingly loyal to the club and the other left at a time were his exit would do maximum damage, tried to take the whole backroom staff and was actively trying to take our best player away to China with him.

Loyalty should count for something. Especially a guy that has sacrificed as much as Lennon has to give his all for our club. The rat was in it all for himself and not only high-tailed it out at the first opportunity but actively tried to * us over when he done it, the 2 aren't even remotely comparable.

'Popcorn teeth' was one example, '*' '* moron' 'idiot' are others.

Lennon wasn't my first choice as manager but I said he would bring us success if he was sufficiently backed this summer, which I don't think was done anywhere near quickly enough. I still believe he'll bring us success.

I have criticised Lennon for the things I disagree with: late substitutions, defending Lawwell, making comments that are latterly disproved eg. Morrison won't go to Bayern, 2 in by next week etc.

Some on here can't give Lennon praise for anything. Which is why people laugh at how quickly they jump on board to criticise.

It's not all sugar and it's not all *.

The snake took no personal abuse until he left us mid season and tried to take all our backroom staff with him? Where's the posts calling him a * idiot or a moron after we won a game comfortably?

It's you has the agenda using this thread to support the weasel. He's at Leicester now go on their forums if you want to express your admiration for him. Neil Lennon is the Celtic manager now whether you like it or not.

But the problem is that it seems to be open season on anybody else apart from Neil Lennon whereby it starts to become personal to people.

How many players threads have people stating negative things like “idiot”, “moron” or “*”? What about the Rodgers thread which has people saying they want him to die; do you condone that? I doubt you would call that out in the same manner as it doesn’t suit the agenda.

And even in spite of all that, there is absolutely no one even suggesting anything of the like towards Lennon.

The difference is, I don’t deal in emotion over these situations. The emotional attachment to Neil Lennon means that he can do no wrong in some folks eyes and the emotional hatred of Rodgers means that people start to rewrite history and upcast everything. I prefer to deal in the reality of their respective performances as Celtic manager which is why I praised Neil Lennon the other night and praised the team.

I am on record as saying that I would have a lot more confidence is Neil Lennon if he was able to navigate this week with two wins.

We're going round in circles @Ciaran_67. I'll have to agree to disagree. This sort of conversation has been done to death in the last 6 months on the thread.

That's not true? He left us 8 points clear in the league, still in the Scottish Cup and having already won the League Cup :56:

I hated the way he left too, but no point exaggerating. Leaving the day after a transfer window closed or the day before a crucial game vs the huns etc would have been far more damaging.

I never wanted Lenny back but he did come back and he loves Celtic deeply there is no doubts about that, something the Rat would never know.
This looks set to me an exciting season with the Huns offering a potential tight title race and a real chance for us to go on a very long European journey.
So I back Lenny and come Spring it will make very interesting reading in this Topic.

He left and took the whole coaching staff on the eve of a huge game away to Tynecastle and with a Scottish Cup Quarter Final away at Easter Road coming 4 days later. A loss in either or both of those could've seen the wheels coming off for our season.

It shouldn’t make interesting reading though. This “I told you so” attitude is pish.

I didn’t want Lennon. I’m not hoping he fails so I’m right, I want to be proved wrong. I doubt anyone wants him to fail but some of the people who wanted him in seem to get think we do. It’s strange.

If we'd blown an 8 point lead at that point it would have taken a spectacular self-implosion to blow it. I can't agree that timing was of maximum damage.

We had already been beaten at Tynecastle and Easter Road that season. It was well within the realms of possibility that we could've lost both those games considering the upheaval of losing the whole first team coaching squad that week.

    Treble Treble could've been burst.

Yes just to make my self clear what I mean by interesting reading in the Spring is we are riding high in Europe and on top of the league with a big challenge
Lenny really could have one if THE vintage Celtic seasons.
