I know what you're getting at but for something as daft as flares what's the point really ?

I don't contribute financially to Celtic just so that we can pay fines because some wee fuds want to set of some flares.
If the Club can identify them hopefully they get banned.

I don't know about you, but I've been laughing at those * for treating racism and bigotry like it's some sort of naughty wee side effect of "tradition". That comparison is utterly misguided because it equates lighting a few torches, for all intents and purposes, with a violent supremacist outlook.

I genuinely believe if you have a moral backbone, you can't possibly just base the entire argument against reveling in being "up to our knees in * blood" on the fact that "the teacher said so". That's the essence of your comparison and it's damaging. You can be against pyro without making that kind of false equivalence.

I kind of agree. I have no particular love for flares. In fact not a fan at all, however it could be the thin of the edge. I don't particularly want to go to games with flares but I also don't want to go to games with zero atmosphere. There has to be somewhere in between.

I read an interesting article this week about VAR in an betting paper where they were saying VAR is taking so much away from the game experience in the same way all seaters took so much away from the average fan. So like I say I am no fan of flares but I would also have no interest in game total sanitised and ruined by UEFA.

You're right, you don't. The two have nothing to do with one another.

I in no way meant to equate lighting flares with their overall horseshit mentality, if it came across that way. I was having a go at the general attitude of "well I'll just keep doing it anyway because x/y/z and * uefa" that some fans take to justify anything they do.

Them being racist * doesn't mean us committing a lesser offense can or should be ignored, if it's something within uefa's rules we're idiots to break it again and again, when we've been fined for it more than once and the club ask us not to do it, but some people still think they're above that for some reason.

I agree but you can make a great atmosphere without flares we've done it for years. I also hate VAR

:56: For you to think that the money you spend on tickets/merchandise or whatever else is allocated directly into the fund that pays for fines from UEFA is comical. Obviously getting fines isn't ideal, but at least the club paying fines for our supporters who they often tout as the 'best in the world' is forcing some kind of tangible action from them. I'm not a big fan of pyros myself but I couldn't give two * if Lawwell or Desmond have to cough up 5 or 10 thousand pounds of the profits they've been hoarding to cover actions from our fans, especially when we see such a fractional amount of those profits committed to expenditures on the playing squad.

Wait do you think we have a specific fund set up to pay for fines (we won't worry about who would fund that, US as supporters, as you obviously are gonna struggle with the concept of income/revenue and what its used for) ... wow the level of stupid some can reach never fails to surprise me on here.

Am I, can't say I've ever bothered about that tbh, well not since primary school anyway. It's what happens in the real world that's important although there are some really good folk on here who know what I think of them, just as I know what they think of me :50:

So where the money coming from?club gets fined surely the club pays the fine?surely the money we spend on the club contributes towards the running all of the club?

May be not directly but the money we spend goes towards the running of the club and all it entails in someway, and everything concerning the running of the club is connected.
