NL on Bayo: “He can be absolutely delighted with his performance. He’s had to be patient.
    @Oedouard22
has a bit of a hand injury but Bayo had a chance to show what he’s got and he excelled

Glad he was able to get some game time in before the board sell Eddy on the final day of the transfer window. :fear:

Physical presence and takes up good positions, Lenny gave him his chance and he took it with both hands.

NEIL LENNON was delighted to see Vakoun Bayo hit the night twice on his first start for Celtic.

The Ivorian joined the Hoops in January but a series of injury niggles has hampered his progression into the first team.

The forward scored two today and received a standing ovation as he left the pitch with fifteen minutes to go to be replaced by Leigh Griffiths during the Scottish champions 3-1 win over Hearts.

And Lennon reckons today’s man-of-the-match is beginning to show what he can do.

He told BBC Sportsound: “It was a bit of a slow burner for him to start with but once he got up to speed, he was excellent.

“Good strength, and that’s his forte, getting across defenders.

He was in there for the first goal against a superb centre-half and the sceond goal was a great goal, great switch of play and a great finish.

“He’ll be delighted with his debut, we all are.”

Superb performance. Gutted he didn’t get a debut hat trick though with that header.

Was very refreshing to see a striker hanging around the box and winning headers. Frustrates me so much when we fire in high balls and there is no one in the box to win the header.

Playing Edouard on the left with Bayo/Griffiths in the middle would bring us more goals imo as when Edouard plays up front he tends to drift around rather than staying central for cross balls. Bayo’s second goal was a great example of that, been in and around the six yard box when crosses come in.

Any decent clips of his goals? Was he officially awarded the second?

Him and Eddy would be the most devastating pair of black strikers since Cole and Yorke.

Love how the guy is a striker/forward and likes to stay near or inside the box, something we've been * crying out for for ages.

Eddy playing just off him, oh my *, the possibilities!!! :35:

Was just thinking that. Play Eddy just off him to the left and that could be a special partnership.
