I cannae stand Gordon as a player or a person. Bain seems like a good lad but think he was maybe riding on a high with his early performances here.

Frasers a far better option in full swing but whether he gets back to that would remain to be seen.

If he can regain his form, he's a far, far better keeper than Bain and Gordon..

Won't argue because I don't know these keepers. Fact remains though. Forster is a proven quality. I get the doubts over fitness and form but in the same breath he is coming from a club that is in league that just buys and buys.

This keeper won plaudits from Barcelona fans and media, the keepers you have mentioned are barely known by most

I dont think anyone is doubting he was class for us first time around.

That was 5 years ago and hes barely played the last 2 seasons for good reason. That's why people are raising concerns.

    Its hardly laughable.

Well, hopefully, Stevie Woods can work his magic like he did with Gordon. It's a season long loan, as risk free as you can get..

True, but they have had great WC performances, and in general impressed for their countries. I watch South Korea often, and their keeper is definitely great. Forster will do, however. Hoping he has the skills, still.

I'm happy with this, his confidence is shot and was carrying a lot of weight tho.. So can't see him being ready to play for a while.

I meant he had 2 years to build up from being a promising young keeper to what he done in that last 16 run.

Fraser Forster is undergoing his medical at Celtic ahead of a return to Parkhead from Southampton.

The 31-year-old goalkeeper is set to sign a season-long loan deal with the Scottish champions five years after leaving for Saints in a £10million deal.

Now Sky Sports are reporting that the Hoops will have the option to buy Forster at the end of the loan spell.

Forster is out of the picture at Southampton and is third choice behind Angus Gunn and Alex McCarthy.

He has three years left on his contract in the south of England.

Fraser Forster is set to undergo a medical at Celtic on Thursday ahead of re-joining the club on loan from Southampton, Sky Sports News understands.

The goalkeeper, who has been deemed surplus to requirements at St Mary's and is now third choice behind Angus Gunn and Alex McCarthy, left Parkhead five years ago.

He is expected to sign on loan until the end of the season, while there would be an option for Celtic to buy him.

Forster will compete for the No 1 spot with Craig Gordon and Scott Bain, who dislocated his thumb last week. It is unclear how long Bain will be out for.

The 31-year-old initially spent two years on loan at Celtic before Neil Lennon made the move permanent during his first stint as manager in 2012. During Forster's first spell at the club, he won three Scottish titles and two Scottish Cups and starred in the Champions League.

He also broke into the England team and was part of his country's 2014 World Cup squad in Brazil, but was sold soon after the tournament to Southampton for £10m, not long after Lennon left Celtic.

As part of that transfer five years ago, it is believed Celtic had a sell-on clause inserted and that may play a part in dictating what agreement is reached between the clubs.

Forster impressed early in his Saints career but lost his place under former boss Mauricio Pellegrino and made just one Premier League appearance last season.

Competition is good and we have that in him...
It could prove a shrewd piece of business.

Happy with this. If we can get him back close to his best he will easily be the best keeper in the league.

Don't stop now Celtic. More signings please!
