His involvement in Celtic also puzzles me. He can change anything like he did by bringing in Robbie Keane and Rodgers if the story of hun directors being dicks after the cup semi-final is true. We're nothing but a toy him.

You just have to laugh at the irony of this tweet.

"Roll up, roll up, more money in the coffers please!"

NEIL LENNON has backed under-siege Celtic chief Peter Lawwell — and urged fans to lay off him.

Lawwell has faced stinging criticism following Celts’ Champions League exit.

But Lennon said: “The abuse Peter Lawwell gets is very unfair, I think it’s totally imbalanced.

“He’s presided over eight league titles in a row and three Trebles, and we’ve been in the last 16 in the Champions League a few times.

It’s probably as good a time as Celtic has had for a very long time.”

Some Hoops fans accused Lawwell of penny-pinching in the transfer market when the club is cash-rich with millions in the bank.

Ahead of Thursday’s Europa League play-off clash with AIK Stockholm, Lennon added: “I can’t comment on that.

“I’m not aware of how much money there is.

But Peter does what’s best for Celtic, and he always has done, maybe to the detriment of himself sometimes.

“I know he puts the club first at all times.”

He added: “The game and the team, and the players and the manager, get analysed to the nth degree these days.

“You could be doing eight out of ten things right and they will focus on the two things that maybe aren’t right.

“That’s just the nature of where we are now, the game is analysed to death now by everybody.

“It’s a game we all love and they are entitled to their opinion, and to their judgement on things, and that’s fine.

“It’s not easy to hear, sometimes, but you have to respect it.

“I don’t read and listen to stuff online. I’d go mad. Just stick to what you believe in and stick to what you know.

I think the point Lennon is missing is that what is best for Celtic in the eyes of the fans is not necessarily the same as what is best for Celtic in the eyes of Lawell. The word that springs to mind as much as I hate is, 'disconnect'.

Also, what i find really worrying from Lennon recently is the them & us viewpoint he seems to be taking between him and the fans. I know he claims to be a mellowed, more mature character than his first-time around but he seems to have lost something with how he's detached himself from the support.

The extent that Lennon became an arselicker to keep the only job he can get is depressing. As I said many times, we could really be spared from this and keep the Lennon from the Barcelona game in our memories
