    100%.

No way we’re going the season with just Tierney, Ajer, Jozo Compper, Hendry and Ralston as our defensive options.

Brendan and Congerton are more to blame than Lawwell for the state of the defence imo.

Still at planning stage and they'll be looking for a partner company who will run it all.

Dragging their heels a bit on the new hotel/ticket office/retail site tbh.

They were tendering over a year ago and had initial plans of completion less than 11 months from now.

Was that officially confirmed? I thought they were in talks with a few but the plans hadn't been finalised yet.

Just checked up on the hotel, we got planning permission from council in 2017 and it said that building work must commence within 3 years, work was supposed to start August last year. I imagine work will start at the end of the season, maybe didn't go ahead last summer because of the hybrid pitch getting put in.

CELTIC have won an appeal to allow them to erect a giant rotating screen outside their stadium.

Glasgow City Council originally rejected plans for an 8x4m LED display as it would “distract motorists”.

But the Hoops today won the right to install the screen, set on an 8m pole, after appealing to the Scottish Government.

Reporter Chris Norman said in his ruling: “Given the location of the proposed advertisement within the immediate environs of a very large football stadium I find that it would not be out of keeping with the scale of the stadium and the other elements that I have identified within the concourse.

It would not therefore detract from the amenity of the locality.

“Subject to each of the conditions proposed by the council, and taking into account traffic management during events at the stadium, I conclude that it would not impact on public safety.

“I conclude that the site has the capacity to absorb the visual impact of the proposed advertising and, when subject to the council’s conditions, the proposal would not be to the detriment of amenity or public safety.

“I allow the appeal and grant express advertisement consent.”

He ordered that for “pedestrian and vehicular safety” they shouldn’t display moving images or video and that static adverts shouldn’t change more frequently than every 10 seconds.

It comes after council planners originally rejected plans in March to construct the illuminated screen at Celtic Park over fears it would distract drivers on nearby London Road.

Bosses at Parkhead originally submitted application documents with the council in September 2016.

The TV is set to be built on a paved shamrock-shaped area to the right-hand side of the Celtic Way.

They said at the time: “It was considered to be detrimental to road safety in terms of its size and location.”

A Glasgow City Council spokesman last night said they were “aware” of the Scottish Government’s decision.

The free-standing LED sign will be used to display live and recorded TV images as well as adverts.

English Premiership side Norwich City have a similar screen in place within Carrow Road – the first of its kind in world football.

    Another little step.
It really is a delight to walk along the Celtic Way to such an impressive stadium.

Rumour has it that Celtic engineered him into this position several years ago in case the screen proposal was rejected.
