He could be. He wouldn’t be the first manager to talk pish about a new signing.

The fact that people who watched him regularly said he was a CB for Be’er Sheva and Bitton was their first choice RB, there’s a pretty good chance Lennon it telling a lie to try take some pressure of him and the player.

 

We needed a first choice RB signed and bedded in for Europe as soon as possible.

That doesn’t mean Elhamed can’t turn out to be a decent signing.


They aren’t mutually exclusive.

Nobody is denying that, I was directly quoting the folk who were saying we haven’t signed a right back when we factually have.

 

He could be lying. @ILoveTheCeltic will probably have the data to say whether he is or not.

People can wait and judge him but also want a proven ‘natural’ RB in as well.

 

I’d agree with that.

I’m sick of seeing the guys name but if we’d signed a Gumny or Bartolec and then signed Elhamed people would be buzzing with the business we’ve done so far.

The frustration is due to the fact that RB was the most important position we had to strengthen this summer, with only Ralston on the books. Yet the only answer we’ve come up with is a 28 yo Israeli, with 1 cap, who can play RB but has been mainly a CB the past few years.

I definitely think we’ll get another in but it should have been done before the qualifying campaign started and yet it’s still not been done the day before the league season starts..

I just hope he's talking soundbites to throw the press off the scent and get a break from them!! A month still to go but we've been gambling in Europe so far. There's no argument there!!!

ps- we've got 2 big games coming up and he's not gonna throw anyone under the bus, unlike Slippy, when we may end up with some of these guys at the end of the month and have to rely on them

 

You don’t know if he’s a RB either but you’re the one saying it’s a fact we have because Lennon said he was his last 4/5 games as a RB.

By all accounts people who watch him regularly say he’s a CB who can fill in from RB to CAM.

 

I know for our fact out manager who’s signed him has him as a natural right back

 

Remember that feeling on cup final day when the news filtered through …….. got that same feeling again .

Honestly mate I’ve stopped paying attention to what managers have been saying during transfer windows.

I expect us to have a bit more movement when the English window shuts though. I imagine anycunt that’s decent that we’re talking to will be hoping for a move there. Agents will be angling for a move.

 

If you've stopped listening to what managers say so much, why do you believe Lenny when he says a CB is a RB..

 

Holding off to Thursday isn’t a long time to see if a move will materialise, we actively market to our players that we are in a good space to move them on to the Premier League.
