Beyond a * joke. Same * every year.

Waiting for the English window to close so we can get a couple of cast-offs on loan no doubt.

If we would just get a * right back we would all shut up for about 5 minutes. A £3-5 million rb is an absolute necessity and its a disgrace that we havent brought one in yet.

Anything on top of that is just luxury.

    Shafted again...

As someone said in another thread the money the average Celtic fan has spent this summer is mental. We are totally within our rights to expect proper investment in the team.

We are no better off than we were last season and could argue we are potentially weaker.

Lennon has gave us 3 or 4 different stories in the matter of 2 weeks. Is he taking the * or is he getting the run around himself?

Actually sick of it. And since yesterday I've had 2 emails and a text with the begging bowl out for the Cluj game money.

Lennon talking as much * as Rodgers at this stage, in regards to transfers..
We needed a 'rebuild' this summer, no where near close.

Let's be honest here if this same nonsense was being spouted by Slippy G across the city then we would be getting tore into him.

It looks more and more to me that it is a case of Lenny has been told no more signings until either we sell someone, or group stage football is guaranteed. They were probably expecting KT or N'tcham to be away by now. If we get past Cluj at least EL group stage is a certainty.

Hopefully it doesn't backfire in spectacular fashion as there is absolutely no reason we shouldn't have had them in already to boost our qualification chances.

Might as well gamble and try to squeeze through to the CL groups every year. It has never backfired before, and even if it somehow does, it's not as if it's worth a fortune to us, anyway.

Celtic boss Neil Lennon says he can see in his players' eyes that they are ready to push for a record-equalling ninth consecutive title.

The league season begins with the champions playing host to St Johnstone as they begin their defence of all three domestic trophies.

On top of that challenge the club is aiming to make inroads on the Champions League and Lennon believes the players have already shown him they have the hunger to succeed.

I think we're all excited," he said. "It's been a good, productive six weeks since we came back in the middle of June.

"Obviously we've negotiated the two ties in the Champions League so in the competitive games we're up and running and done very well considering it's so early.

"Now the domestic campaign kicks off and we've asked the players 'Whether it's your first title, fifth, seventh or ninth, have you got the hunger to go again?'.
You can see in their eyes that they are well set to go. I always think when you're challenged you give a little bit more and there's no question that we're going to be challenged again as we go along.

"Each time people take points off us or beat us it's a little victory for them and we want to avoid that.

"I'm pleased with the balance of the squad, I'm pleased with the individual and collective performances that I've seen so far. "

Lennon said his side won't get it all their own way but wouldn't be drawn on whether rival sides would pose a tougher challenge this season.

He said his focus was on Celtic and that he felt with players returning from injury that the team would get better yet.

"Winning games is hard," he said. "We go into a run of games now that's going to be very heavy and very competitive and we're asking all the squad to be ready when called upon.

"The focus has been good. Quiet and calm but the focus has been good.

"I've no idea [if the challenge from others will be tougher]. I don't like making predictions or looking too far ahead.

"I think we've strengthened in areas we need to strengthen and we've got the likes of Griffiths almost back to full fitness, which we didn't have the luxury of for a long, long time.

"Kieran's nearly fit, Tom Rogic and all those have to come in to what you've already seen so far.

"In some aspects we could be even stronger than we were at the end of last season."

I've been positive for most of this window, but it is starting to get to the point where Lennon's contradictions irritate me. We had an excellent start and i'm still happy enough with the signings, but we really, really should have had a proper RB in by now, and even at that we didn't sign Elhamed in time for the Kalju games, which was poor.

I do think our current squad is good enough to comfortably beat cluj, really don't think they're anything special and the isreali mob seemed a larger threat had they went through, but if we draw young boys or Slavia Prague with the current squad i'd be pretty worried.

Lennon says his players are "relishing the pressure" of trying to secure a record-equalling ninth successive title and will not be sidetracked by hysteria.

"We've asked the players whether it's your first, fifth, seventh or ninth title, have you got the hunger to go again? You can see it in their eyes, they're well set to go."...that'll do me !!!!

The window started well enough just like last summer but we're getting the same old * again now we've already been told griffiths is like a new signing then Rogic will come back and he'll be like a new signing and if we make the CL we'll be told that the team has shown its good enough so we don't need to spend any of the CL money.

As fantastic as the trebles have been the football has declined since that first one, we've got worse in europe, lost big players and the injury count has got ridiculous at times in part due to how many games we play a season, I don't think Lennon's been backed anywhere near enough so far to set us up for the next two years.

That clearly says a move for a RB collapsed.

What are we meant to do about that?

Apart from the fact a move for a RB collapsed aye?

Don't let that get in the way of a good rant though

It clearly says Lenny was looking to bring in 2-3 players before the deadline..
4 days later, we're suddenly fine with what we have.
Maybe you can't notice the contradiction there, but anyway..

We've had ample time to get a RB in mate.. We should have more than a couple of contingencies.

So some things haven't came about for one reason or another. Would you like the manager to come out and say we are * and our squad isn't good enough to beat Cluj? :43:

Pointless arguing with you, mate. Going in circles..
You'll defend the way we conduct our transfer business, whatever happens.
