    Exactly the type of player we need to add steel to our midfield. Being realistic Brown is now 34 and slowly needs phased out. The type of player would be the perfect replacement, able to do all of the dirty work but offer more in terms of starting attacks and bringing the ball forward.

    hiroki sakai? would be out of price probably,
    gotoku sakai probably a more viable, money wise. but hes been * the majority of last season (after hamburg change their manager hes been going downhill)

    also that his team mate tatsuya ito (dribbler, pacey, but with glaring lack of strength and fitness, also woeful cross, but hey you cant expect a ready made world class for under 5 mil )looking for transfer for a more playing time

    Bertolacci would be a great signing IMO, lost his way a bit but we would be a new challenge to reinvigorate him.

    No doubting his quality and experience.

    Sawyers looks tailor made for us. Can mix it, sit deep and is a leader himself. More adapted our game..

    No sure Bertolacci would suit us..

    I've not seen enough of either.

    Bertolacci obviously has the better pedigree but Sawyers seems to be rated as well. The latter has went a bit quiet that's all I'm thinking..

    Could be a masterstroke on a free at his peak but he looks very lightweight from what I remember of him..

    I agree I do think the Sawyers deal is dead. They signed their replacement and we haven't made a bid since. Would indicate it's gone..
