Well, Izaguirre said this: "Neil Lennon has spoken to me and he wants me to remain at Celtic."

I am sure that we will hear that Izaguirre is a liar; Lennon can do no wrong, remember. Four legs good, two legs bad.

 

Why the * was he offered one in the 1st place

 

Holy * just buy a decent left back to challenge Tierney so we can rest him if need be.

 

Honestly what in the name of * is going on at Parkhead? Offering a guy that can’t get a game even when we have no other LB’s a new deal. My heids fried.

 

No doubt offered him a lower wage, which would already have been a lower wage than the one he was on before he left the first time.

Didn't matter how the player improved the squad, what qualities he now brought, how well he played. It would just be cheaper. Cheaper. That's what mattered. Getting him to accept a cheaper deal would be a good deal for Lawwell.

 

Was he not automatically entitled to another year if he played X amount of games?

Respectfully offer the contract, respectfully reject it. Both sides knowing the final outcome anyway.

Izzy is a model professional, everything he has said/done in the past has always been as honest as possible and I'd be surprised if within himself he knew after a couple months this season, he just wasn't cutting it any more.


33 is too young to retire, hopefully gets himself a year or two in the MLS. Wish him all the best.


In the near future, would be great to see him back in Scotland if this is where his family call home now.

Who knows, may follow Bobby Petta with some random gym/fitness company out the west end.

Well done Emilio, knows he's no longer at the level required yet he can no doubt still do a job in one of the south american leagues. Hopefully the other past it fullback rejects his contract extension as well, so much for moving forward as a club

 

No doubt be called anti-Lennon or whatever but he’s always been the type to play his favourites no matter what and try and fit them in the team. He done it at us first time round and done it at Hibs as well.

Izzy and Lustig were stick on’s for getting offered new deals as soon as Lennon came back.

 

And then there's the fact he wants to build his team around our 34-year-old captain...

 

Who were his favourites he always played last time round?

 

Surely even Lennon knows he’s done though, he’s been playing a winger at LB instead of him. I also think Lustig is off, he wants one last big contract but he won’t get it at us.
