His appointment has divided opinion. Personally he wasn’t my first choice but unlike others I can understand the logic of his appointment.

As well as the obvious (ie Celtic legend, knows the club inside out, good relations with the Board, managed the club before), there is a couple of upsides to his appointment.

He’s been working with the squad since February therefore has already done a squad assessment and knows where we need to strengthen. A new manager would take a couple weeks to get an understanding of what’s needed and with the qualifiers on the horizon we need to move fast. And he can spot a player - Wanyama, Van Dijk, Forster, Hooper etc. Look at the side he built at Hibs as well!

    Let's get behind him 110%!

Aye he's not Jurgen Klopp but ffs some people need to cheer up. Nine trophies in a row, Lenny has got some great results for us in the past. We've spent the season with a heap of injuries and a manager slinking away and we finished nine points clear. Looking at some of the reaction over the past couple of days from some has been an effin joke.

Twitter's the worst! All for people having their opinion but once a manager has been appointed, people should put their negative opinion's to one side and get behind the manager!

You are right and when all those big names were being thrown about here and on other Celtic media very few people considered the fact that any of those would have to drastically reduce their salaries to come and manage us, unless you are someone with a strong connection to the club that was simply never going to happen as much as I want to think it could, regrettably in this era bar very few exceptions the salary is foremost in their minds before choosing a club

Twitter as a platform is rank rotten when it comes to discussing Celtic in a serious or level headed way, seems mostly bams who've never been to Parkhead who shout the loudest and every single thread no matter how serious seems full of the obligotary English * who support the likes of Port Vale or West Brom chipping in with the usual "* league" 'tinpot cup" "Mickey Mouse" it all gets a bit tiresome after a while sifting through utter * to find something worth reading

Exactly, the poor guy has been judged to death on here and elsewhere when he hasn't even had five mins to put his own team together.

:56: in February he took over a team of back-to-back treble winners miles clear in the league. Performances have been underwhelming and a major lack of goals has been a serious concern.

I'm back on board with Lennon being appointed and I'm looking forward to next season, my concerns are almost solely with our board's bizarre determination to always underspend, but let's not pretend Lennon has been hard done by in the slightest here.

There's a middle ground between the likes of Mourinho, Benitez, AVB and then Lennon a middle ground that our overpaid CEO readily admits we didn't bother our * looking, regardless of what you think of Lennon there is complete justification for fans to be angry that treble or not he was the only real candidate in our boards eyes.

Lets just wait and see what signings are made this summer along with who's cleared out.

I always felt he was being judged too much on the performances of another mans team.

I can't lie and say I'm thrilled with the appointment, but it's a reasonable enough choice. The problem I have is the apparent lack of process we went through before offering him the job.

Anyway, Lennon is a good manager. Not on Rodgers' level, it has to be said, but still good. He'll have grown as a manager and we'll see what happens this Summer in terms of recruitment and Champions League qualification. He needs to get off to a good start so hopefully the board don't hang him out to dry. Lawwell has already said we have a bit of rebuilding to do in the Summer and Brown has said a couple of times that there are a load of players leaving, so we'll see what happens.

I don't believe for one minute that Lennon was getting the job regardless. Lawwell would have told him he was getting it.

Some fairly reliable people have mentioned that we spoke to at least 1-2 other people.

His reaction at full time, for me, was of someone who knew he was getting the job based on winning a treble. I'd imagine Lawwell had told him this too beforehand.

They really need to stop treating supporters like mugs.
