Why would a fanbase be focusing on an unsuccessful time for the club when we've just done 8IAR and a treble treble. * those bad times, they're ancient history and irrelevant now. Play what's in front of us now.

Did anybody honestly expect anyone other than Lennon or Moyes?

I'd love to, but it just seems like such a backwards step. Feeling quite deflated now when we should be celebrating. Maybe if we get some decent signings in I'll be feeling more positive, but I doubt that is going to happen.

I agree with all that but am not confident that he's a good enough coach to achieve this

It defo is, but I don't think we can attract another manager as good as Rodgers, so it was always going to be a backwards step from him.

I feared it would be Moyes and i don't think NL is the man to take us forward. Once all the emotions pass i think there were better options elsewhere. I hope i'm proved wrong but the past few months have been dire to watch. NL is the cheap option and lacks ambition from the board.

Well that’s an end to the speculation, time to celebrate a historic achievement for the club and get behind Lennon.

We've come to the end of a long hard season where just about everything that could go wrong did. Lenny might not be Brendan Rodgers but lets just see how he does. We owe him a chance. If we kick off fine next season who knows what could happen. He's given us blood sweat and tears and we can afford to be magnanimous on the back of what we have achieved. Savour the moment of the triple treble for what it is and let next season take care of itself. This is a day for us all and we can think about what it all means later.

and i say this as well having a fully fit Griff really is Essential .these are great days were living in now * i remember the days off brady and mcari .still sends a shudder .

(new poster, long time lurker) - it is possible no one better was available -? If it came down to Nelly vs Moyes I'd take the former, non?

I'm actually kind of excited now. He definitely isn't afraid to be adventurous with signings, which I like. Not NL related, my main fear is we're only going to be allowed to sign loans and frees. Our board DESPISE spending money and insist we sit on tens of millions not to be spent.

We’ve just went back 5 years as a club, absolutely gutted at such a lack of ambition being shown. Can’t help but think we’ll regret this.
