Just play the passing game that suits our players, though.

See the weird thing is, that is Lenny’s style. He likes to absolutely boss the midfield, and have the movement all around that, drag players out the way and others to fill in those gaps.

It’s not something we’ve seen at all. So is it Lenny not being able to get his ideas across? The players just not following his instructions? Not having his normal backroom staff?

    Something weird is happening.

Yeah, 2011/12/13 we played some great stuff, especially in games vs the huns when they really did play anti-football. 2-2 draw at Ibrox with 10 men and we were bossing the midfield with Ki, Brown, Ledley and Kayal all dominating the ball and they couldn't get a touch at times.

Just looked it up, and we had near 60% possession with 10 men. But for whatever reason, he's doing constant crosses into the box in this reign and it just doesn't suit our players at all. And despite him saying he's not changing from Rodgers' style, Rodgers never had us playing like that.

Even look at Hibs against us, McGeough and McGinn would go toe to toe and try and dominate the midfield, very fast paced in your face, passing football.

It’s not happening just now. It looks like he’s scared to do too much and aping Rodgers style but not quite getting it...

The passing game was running us into a wall ,it was to use diffrent options and catch them with early ball into the box .

But it only lead to 11 goals in 10 games, far less than we were scoring before that. 26 scored in the last 10 under Rodgers.

Missing rogic, teirney havent helped ,made it easier to close down our threats ,rogic is a slow starter ,takes him 6 to 8 wks to get back to his peak .

Rodgers frequently had to deal with missing players as well in fairness.

Rogic was out from new year until the end of March, so he never player in that run of 26 goals in 10 games.

Eddy also missed a good chunk of that run. So missing players isn’t really an excuse.

Your correct ,and we struggled in some games to score , and got beaten or drew in a few , we hit a wee patch after the break but the signs were there struggles were coming again .

We didn’t struggle as much as we are now and we didn't even have a striker at that time.

Rodgers lost 4 games over 6 months this season.
    Lenny lost 1 since Feb.

The ratio is actually fairly consistent of the season as a whole.

Does Lennon not deserve the chance to rectify that? A pre season with the squad and new signings that he has identified.

Aye. Tony Mowbray deserves the chance to rectify his time here too. John Barnes and all.

Both of those were complete failures first time around. Not comparable with Lennon at all.

NL: “It’s not about me. It’s about the players on the cusp of something very special. Hearts will be hungry for it as well so we have to play the game, not the occasion

NL: “It’s been pretty apparent how hungry and how successful the players have been. You want to be a Celtic player, but you want to be a winning Celtic player. These guys have been brilliant over the past few years.

NL: “We’ve a game to play and a trophy to win and the focus needs to be on that, and not all the noise around it. It’s nothing to do with my future, this game is about them. First, we want to win the trophy and then look at anything

NL: “The anticipation and the excitement of playing in a final is there, but you have to play the game first. It’s a one-off game, but these players have handled those games brilliantly. It’s a magnificent run and we want for that to continue.

NL: “They’ve done this before and they know what it takes to win the game. It doesn’t need any extra motivation. Their mindset needs to be right, and I’m sure it will be on Saturday.

I don't get that. Lennon was and is a serial winner, he has nothing to rectify when it comes to results. Those two were beyond pish and didn't see the season out. You're on about our inability to score goals, does Lennon not deserve a chance to rectify that considering he has bagged us one trophy and is one game away from winning another one.
