In all honesty mate i think the Board will be aware that time is of the essence, the new man has to be in place not long after the cup final, a lot of work needs to be done over the summer.

    I trust they won't * this up :67:

Ideally the board will have already informed the new man and lists of targets will have been drawn up already. Can't see us waiting until after the cup final before springing into life.

I'd definitely prefer you to be right in this case. I've just seen them * up too often to be confident of anything where they are concerned. They had all * year to get a CB and RB lined up for last summer and look how that turned out.

If those * in charge choose Moyes over Lennon there will be riots.

I know on here there is a major split regards lenny and the gig, but if moyes is picked above lennon then there is something wrong ,was moyes not out of a job when we called to lenny to guide us , if so then I feel that rules him out entirely.

It’s actually starting to look like Lenny is getting the job, it’s him or Moyes for me. I know who I want out of those two.

The question that needs to be asked though, is who would get the greater financial backing? Moyes or Lennon?

I agree, we both know Moyes will be on a higher salary than Lennon. But our team is in desperate need of strengthening, I actually think Moyes would get more dosh out the * in charge. How he uses it compared to Lennon is another matter.

I'm sure the board will have some sort of figure in mind, which would also have to take into consideration what the manager is going to cost?

I'd say neither would take the job on if they weren't guaranteed some kind of decent team building budget, setting themselves up for a fall otherwise.

Suppose their budget will also be conditional on the offloading of some players.

Guessing somewhere in the region of £10-£20 million?

That's what I mean - if Lennon gets offered the job, you can put your mortgage on it that he won't be on anywhere the same wage as Moyes (some might see that as a positive) or that he would get the same transfer "kitty".

No chance does Lennon gets the same money as Moyes, we already had a fud like Keane going on about the funds available if he took the job. Our wage bill at present tells me cuts are coming and Lennon will have to do a Strachan.

We’ve got a lot of outgoings in the summer though, wonder how that will effect the wage bill?

We also took a hefty wedge off the wage bill when Rodgers gutted our back room staff.

The compensation for the Rodgers management team adds up to £134,615 per week over a year- plus their salaries, so on top of that, you have Rodgers & his backteam staff salaries gone now, which is roughly an extra £50,000 a week altogether.

That's £180,000 a week freed up over a year, which even spread over three season increases our wage budget by £60,000 a week per year for 3 years. Letting Rodgers & his backteam staff go was an absolute goldmine for us financially.

The job is his imo, the board have put Moyes out there as a ploy. Now I’m not bothered but I do want the man backed, because our squad and first 11 needs major surgery.

Maybe that’s why they back him, last time they got the finger out in a transfer window Lenny built us the basis for 10 in a row...

Totally agree mate but lots aren’t happy with a Celtic legend, * knows why tbh. Yes performances haven’t been great, but let’s back him and let him build a team, it’s not as if he hasn’t done it before when we were in a * of a state.

I suppose the other positives of Lennon getting the job are that I'm sure he'd continue to blood youth players into the team - Johnstone, Henderson, Dembele, hopefully Church and Welsh get some decent game time this pre-season coming, especially Welsh I think he's going to be a good big lad.

If Lennon ends up getting the job then it's time to accept that we're simply not an attractive club to work for and that Lennon-style appointments are the way it's going to be for the considerable future.

Whether it's because of the league we're in or because we are generally unambitious when it comes to recruitment and investment, it's a pretty grim situation to be in.

Rodgers starting to look like a spectacular one-off.
