as a st pats fan in the eircom league, have seen this guy on enough occasions,he sticks out alrite, has great skill and control but would'nt improve us whatsoever.he's too injury prone also.a couple of teams in the championship are after him mainly norwhich.morethan welcome t him IMO

If you took that personal then accept my apologies, I just felt you were trying to nit pick my posts.

Let me clarify some things. I have nothing against the irish league or derry city. My only concern is that we are buying a 24 year old for potential as some people have said. Obviously there have been reasons why this guy has never made it before now. Here's hoping he does well.

Could be a masterstroke singing or an inexpensive failure, I'll wait until I see him play in the hoops before i open my gob, however, having read through a lot the Derry Bhoy's posts about this guy i'm rubbing my hands with joy hoping it pays off.

Let's see if WGS and Lennon can get him to be consistent with good form that so many people have talked about in this thread....

Here's hoping we're all talking positives about him soon.

Worth a punt I reckon, I don't know much about him so I can't exactly comment. Wikipedia is not a fair reflection on any player though, I despise the fact that so many players being linked these days are judged by some open-source encyclopedia available to ANYONE.

I'll reserve my judgement until I see the guy play. The Eircom is taking some harsh stick IMO, our league is far from being perfect itself.

No idea if anyone else has mentioned it, but he passed his medical and has signed a 3 year contract.

    Best of luck Paddy.

He looks skillful so may be good coming off the bench for a bit of flair obviously i havent really saw much of him just some videos but he is a celtic fan and will give 100% too the team and he can't be tht bad a couple of years ago when he was at rochdale they turned down a 1.5 million bid from man city so think of this as a bargain simply because his contract is out in november

what makes you all think the eircom league is so crap? with the exception of celtic and rangers i would back any eircom league team against any of the spl teams and expect to win more than lose. the guy will be a great success in the league although the cl might be a bit too far for him. remember scot mc donald came from a largely unknown team in a supposedly poor league, motherwell.

Yeah against players, often meaning in training everyday, where players pick up most of what they learn. This is a back-up signing for McGeady. Think Strachan wants him to deputise for Aidinho and Koki to do the same for Naka. I hope we get another winger as well.

Looks like a good signing and at 200K there's more to gain than lose.

Does look like a tramp though ;-)

The SPL is in general a poor league, don't delude yourself, Eircom league is not good at all but the top teams of it could give a majority of the teams outside of the old firm a good match.

im deluding myself ?!! the spl is cack but dont compare it with that lge

I replyd to what i perceived as a daft statement

to quote him 'i would back any eircom league team against any of the spl teams and expect to win more than lose' :icon_mrgreen: dont make me laugh

Instead of this thread going off topic and if you care enough then do indeed start a thread in the pub section or world football comparing both :bbpd:

Well I have read all of this which was quite an achievement :56: and I have to say that I'm excited by the prospect of what this guy might do for Celtic. What have we got to lose........he's costing buttons......and it's quite conceivable that we could be unearthing a gem here and even better still Rangers paid for it :56:
