    NL: “
    @kierantierney1
    and James Forrest won’t be involved at the weekend but both should be fit for the cup final.”

    NL: “
    @kdembele_10
    is a possibility for Sunday. He’s training with the squad this week, as is Ewan Henderson. We’ve got boys that are carrying knocks and we don’t feel the need to risk them ahead of the cup final.

    NL: “There has to be perspective, the players have been brilliant. At times, they’re not going to play well. We didn’t stutter over the line at all, the league was won two weeks ago.”

    NL: “In modern-day football, there’s a furore after one result. We played with the handbrake on on Sunday, we didn’t play well, but it’s in no way terminal. There‘s still so much to look forward to.”

    NL on
    @ScottBrown8
    : “Scott is a modern day great. His influence, his quality of play and his personality. He reads the game brilliantly. His athleticism is brilliant. We wouldn’t have won a lot of games without Scott and I think that gets underplayed.”

    NL on Marian Shved: “He trained yesterday and looked great. We unfortunately can’t use him, but he’s a very exciting player and looked right at home with his teammates. He’s the type of player we enjoy at Celtic.

    NL on Trophy Day: “It’s always a very special occasion and great atmosphere. Ultimately, it’s about
    @ScottBrown8
    picking up the trophy and standing alongside a podium full of players. We’ve done it eight times in a row, which is very difficult to do.”

    Very strange coming out and saying that. Almost trying to justify any possible future failure by saying it’s been worse and we’re being spoiled just now.

    I’m 91 so I’ve had a rollercoaster. Doesn’t mean I’m willing to accept a drop in the standard we’ve set for ourselves just because I’ve had it worse before.

    The day might come, but I’m allowed to be disappointed.

    Edit: that’s born in 91 not 91 years old :giggle1:

    Simple distraction to point at the 90’s and justify people’s different opinions as immaturity.
    If NL is already having to defend himself from a lot of Celtic fans at this early stage then things are not good at all.

    The difference between then and now is we had no money to compete. We are so much bigger and financially secure over any other club now.

    Expectation levels for the club are rightly at a different place due to our superiority. It's not immaturity, it's a realistic opinion of where we should be compared to the rest.

    It's just a deflection tactic by Lennon. Remember what I've started and remember the harder times before that. I remember the 90s and don't wish to venture back there. However, you can't communicate to the fans that they're immature for wanting a board & manager to build season upon season. It's the nature of success to not sit on your laurels. If Lennon is suffering with the pressure then get out the kitchen. Your tactics are back in the dark ages anyway Lennon.

    I agree with him to a point. There is absolutely a chunk of spoiled bastardness in the Celtic support. And a lot of these wee guys on Social Media don’t know what being 2nd best is actually like.

    What that doesn’t cover, however, is the fact that his football is turgid and stodgy and is a regression from the weasel. And that is as clear as day to any Celtic fan with eyes.

    I love him to bits and despite suggesting he’d walk the job if he were to finish the Treble off, he(and the Board) would be well placed to shake hands and walk away amicably after next weekend. A club legend with his reputation intact and allow us to look for the guy that’ll deliver 10IAR.

    I think that we have been spoiled by Rodgers first two seasons and that some fans have come to expect that level of performance despite the squad not being near as strong this season.
