All this crap about West Brom pulling out....they 'pulled out' because Paddy rejected them for the Bhoys.

Don't know if anyone has said this but it says on the bbc forum that The huns are basically financing this deal as when they bought Miller we were given 200, 000 as a sell on clause from Derby.

Let's give Frank Gallagher a chance. I like the look of him. At least he's not a plodding squad player. He's a talent that has shown it in fits and starts; just the kind of player we like! Congratulations on your move, Paddy. I'm looking forward to seeing an Irishman in a Celtic top again (this isn't a dig at McGeady). Hit the wings, hit the crosses and hit Novo and you'll win over even the doubters!

You're spot on there! Hope he plays like Nedved with the Celts!

Is that rumour about the sell on clause true? Never seen any official confirmation...

For those of you who seem to think this is a gamble, considering his potential and the lack of money being spent, this is a great deal now and might become one to remember if he lives up to his potential.

If he truly was a Celtic fan as a boy, than I would think he does have something to prove and might give his all this time round. Now that he has gotten his big break to go to a bigger league and his favorite team with CL matches next season, it is time for him to make his mark.

As with Barry Robson, you just don't know who might end up in the starting 11 each season. Give the man a chance and at the very least we got a decent backup in case of injury at minimal cost.

I'm pretty certain we don't have any wingers in the reserves that are good enough to make it. Jim O'Brien is the best we've produced since McGeady and he didn't cut it, hopefully this guy will.

that's right he went to Nottingham and proved himself and then man U made a move for him.

You could go through 10 or 20 players at this level and may not get a decent one. Celtic should only buy proven players and develop our own.

We don't have the money to do that, especially if we want to get to the 2nd round or quarters of CL every season.

Plus, Lennoxtown has only just opened, in relative terms compared to other major teams training centres. It will be a while before we see the benefits.

I can appreciate that mate, but I don't see how a £250,000 player is going to improve our CL prospects.

Look, the guy appears to be ready to sign and if he does I truly hope he shines.

For me this looks like a decent bit of business really. Essentially we're getting a "good" 24 year old player, who has been "great" on ocasion, for nothing if the Miller story is right, and he'll be on about what, £1500 a week maybe, probably not even as much as that.

I am all for growing your own talent, but if you look at it, we tend to loan our players out a lot when they get to that age, Rocco Quinn, Jim OBrien etc etc. What you can say is this fella has 1st team experience, in a decent league, and he cost us as much as it would cost to train, pay and look after a 17 year old to get to his standard.

I dont even know if that makes sense, but I cant be arsed re-tyoing it !!
