I agree. We badly miss him.

My point was just that he can't be used to say we weren't full strength at the weekend, when he hasn't been our player for almost a year.

All you see and hear is how unprofessional he is and how * his coaching is. I know a lot of it will be bullshit but there must be some truth to it, especially when ex players are alluding to it.
    * that, I want Rodgers mkII. Love Lenny but his time has came and gone imo.

I understand that but until we have a respectable DOF to pick players for us, we need to rely on a manager not only to coach players but to pick the correct player also. The turnover we may need for next season is not something I'd want to trust to someone coming in without any knowledge of the Scottish game.

He has turned a relegation fighting team into an organised top 4 side with a pittance of a budget. He wont get the job but the guy has proven, for two seasons now, that he is a proper football coach. The guy knows football and how to organise a team.

No harm, but being organized does not entitle you to the Celtic job where you are expected to win every week.

We'd be a poor second under Clarke imo.

I don't trust Lennon to coach us to the 9 and 10 though, do I *. I'd go as far to say that if he is our manager next year, the title race is 50-50, which is shocking.
We need another Rodgers in to bury they *, bring back the 4 and 5 goal pumpings. Players came to work under Rodgers too, I don't see Lennon having that same pull.

He is deserving of a good job due to his overall performance as Killie manager.
He turned Killie from a poor SPL side into a side capable of beating anyone in the league, including us.

He will be the new national team manager if a championship side dont come in for him. The guy has been a class act since he came to scotland.

I think he's perfect for Scotland. But would be a terrible choice for Celtic.

I never compared his recent performances to Rodgers best.

The only people saying he’s not doing much different are the people who are making up every excuse they can to defend Lennon getting the job permanently.

The football has changed massively. We’re putting in nearly double the crosses and having no more success than we did under Rodgers. Our pressing is non existent, it was already * under Rodgers. Our attacking play has been clueless and has turned into us getting the Ball to Hayes and him putting his head down and shelling the ball into absolutely no *.
We’re hitting hopeless long balls to Edouard when he’s got 2/3 men on him sometimes and no one looking to play off him. Our play has become much slower and limited. Creative players like McGregor, Rogic, Edouard look completely clueless on the ball most of the time with no options.

I think appointing Lennon is the biggest boost the Huns will have had since they died. They’re absolutely desperate for him to get the job because they know how average a manager he is.

If he gets it I don’t see us getting CL football and I don’t see him winning us the league no matter how much money we give him to rebuild. Like McGuire said I think it could end up a complete disaster. McAvennie, one of Lennon’s best pals, has came out and said some of the players just don’t like him because of his shouting. He’s already got them doing less training and has basically stopped having anything to do with the analysis and sport science stuff.

We need someone with modern thinking that’s going to use every available tool to get more out of the players.

And if the sole aim is to simply win the league then Strachan is a far safer bet and a far better manager than Lennon. Doubt he’d be getting all these excuses if it him in temporary charge and having the exact same results/performances though...

Been defending Lennon after yesterday as ultimately I think the players are to blame for another no show but hearing some worrying things about the preparation in the build up to yesterday's game being very far from ideal and also a significant drop in standards behind the scenes to the point where he and the head of our sports science no longer communicate.

Surely if that was the case then the board would 100% give him a wide berth moving forward next season..

I believe he would also do very well here and has them playing a very good counter attacking style .

One thing about Clarke the team would be well organised and each player would know their role, he's done a cracking job at Kilmarnock, but managing Celtic is a whole different prospect with high pressure and expectation levels, not sure he would be the right man in that respect tbh.

My only concern would be his reaction to the orc hoards and how he would handle that ,they got a reaction and would see every man woman and child use the same tactic to draw a reaction again .

Yeah that's true, i do think he's a good manager who would get the respect from the players, but he does have a certain manner about him that a lot are not keen on, i think he would be ideal as Scotland manager, whether he'd want it or not i don't know.

As much as I like Neil Lennon, his record is quite poor against the huns in general.

His first full season he lost the league to Walter Smiths huns. The second season they imploded with administration, liquidation etc. It annoyed me that we never won the league that day against them when they were on their knees. Down 3-0 and managed to claw back two very late goals.

Lennons next few seasons never featured the huns at all. His record was poor at Hampden as well, blew too many semis and finals against inferior opposition.

Fair enough he beat the huns 2-1 at Celtic Park, but we played * and I feel that tactically he got it wrong. Lennon surely watched us lose at Ibrox in December and seen how we failed in areas all over the pitch and then corrected on Sundays match. We looked unfit, didn't look hungry at all. We looked like 3rd or 4th in the table against the top club if you just watched that game in isolation.

It's basic basic * as well, each player on the pitch does their * jobs and we win, simple as that.

We're still winning the treble treble and they are still second at the end of the day but I just want us to put those * back in their place.

I want somebody to come in and make us a horrible team to play against, physical powerful players on the pitch. Not this tippy tappy pretty boy *. Our players got * bullied by a midfield of Arfield, Davis, Jack and Kamara ffs. * pathetic, I don't see Neil Lennon being that guy to do it but who knows.

I could carry this on but again you refuse to acknowledge the key part of my point. The conversation doesn't seem to be going anywhere.

But just remember when your telling everyone we need a different man to Neil Lennon the facts remains. He has lost one game since Feb. He finished the league off and got us to the final, where he will more than likely complete our treble treble. He answered the call in our time of need and makm no mistake about it, he inherited a team that needs work. Something I think majority can see.

The fact remains, if Lennon gets the job its a massive step backwards.
