To be fair, they're sacking him because they're a diddy club with delusions of grandeur. Realistically they should be nowhere near that league. He got them there.

    Do you want him?

I'd be pretty horrified if it's him, I'd certainly have him over Lennon but as I said before, that's no great endorsement.

I don't watch the EPL so I can't really comment on his style. I think perhaps the reason he got sacked was he exceeded expectations on his first year thus raising the bar for himself. Had the years been reversed he'd probably be still in a job. The snake was also sacked from his previous job after a horrendous run

Don't really know enough about his football tbh.

But based on the little I've read he doesn't excite me much. I'd lump him in with Moyes and Clarke.

That is a good read. He's the kind of manager I'd take over Lenny. Can't argue with a treble treble formation.

The way he got his work permit is astonishing.

Don't like the idea of him tiring teams out though but in contrast to that he is renowned for inspiring players and it looks like our squad is in need of a rest and some reinvigorating before the qualifiers.

Have to agree with StPauli though, it would be surprising if Leeds sacked a manger that good, even failing the Play Offs they're not going to get anyone better than him.

He did manage Newell's Old Boys though and we're wanting to attract big players....

i thought he may end up here , but he has said a good few times his next decision will be around spending more time with family etc so that can only mean scotland or back to london , so unless he really wants to manage us ( assuming the offer is their ) he will be going to one of the above

Geniuenly will be surprised if Clarke is still within Scottish football next season.
If he is, it will be to continue with Killie, but I dare imagine a team like Brighton would be interested.

After the outbursts and back lash he has had so far, no way would he put himself right in the firing line by taking either the Celtic or the Scotland job.

The Newcastle team Hughton got promoted finished with 102 points and were the top scorers in the league. Scoring 17 goals more than Leeds have this season so while he is seen as a defensive manager and that is fair. He obviously isn't ultra defensive in the right circumstances with the right players.

I can’t imagine any manager adopting a genuinely defensive approach with us domestically. I think it comes down to degrees of flexibility, how frequently players can change positions, enter new phases of play etc.

One thing we definitely need to get better at is breaking teams down. I don’t think we can rely on Edouard to be the lone front man next season, and relying on Griffiths would be a huge gamble.

Is that the season Carroll and Hooper were top scorers?.

Not sure of the squad he would have had in during that time, but getting that many points is a credible achievement nonetheless

It does seem a little grim in paper though that he might be the biggest name we could get.

The more I read about Biesla as well, the more I'm put off him, as while he seems like a * who'd have the board by the balls he'd happily jump ship, without any new job lined up, the second he doesn't get what he wants, without a moments thought of where his employer could be left.

And guys like Rafa and Jose, are just funny "oh, imagine what he could do".
