Does everyone have a definitive man they want to get the job?

    Lennon - no
    Clarke - no
    Moyes - no
    Wagner - off to Germany
    Rose - off to Germany
Benítez - on £85k week at Newcastle
    Martinez - no
    AVB - no
Bielsa - doubt he will leave Leeds if they go up

So is there anyone we actually do * want?

Being smart and in touch with the modern game doesn't mean you are automatically a better manager than someone who is more traditional, to suggest so is absolute bollocks mate.

It's all well and good being in touch with the latest Analysis, Sports Science and technological advances as well as the "modern day style of play" but at the end of the day it doesn't matter if you can bring up a first class coaching plan on an Ipad or sit at a computer and analyse a game/style of play if you don't posses the coaching nouse and ability to produce it on the training pitch to improve your players or stand their and motivate them to believe in your cause. In line with that, players are human beings with emotions and older managers tend to have much more experience (Not always better at it age doesn't define someones psychological/man managment skills) in dealing with footballers in terms of motivating them, gaining respect, making them more determined and and at the end of it all being able to get the best out of their team. Just because they are in touch with today doesn't make them a better coach or tactician, most managers including David Moyes are up to speed with how football works today mainly because football clubs have facilities and back room staff who are their at there disposal to help show them what today's technology's can offer, just because someone is older doesn't mean they are not up to date with football today.

Big Sam's football is absolutely chronic to watch but he is an absolute pioneer of modern day football, he was using Sports Science and Analysis as well as anything new that could help managers move into a more modern day age much sooner than the vast majority of coaches yet his Football and philosophy is still considered "Dinosaur"

Kennedy would be a risk at this point, I agree. That was kind of my point

And you think he'd be a better appointment than Moyes. Which is laughable.

    That's my point.

Big Sam was never a dinosaur, mate. His football teams are ugly but he is a smart guy.

Moyes recent record suggests that he would be an enormous gamble at this stage.

It's not laughable: better someone unproven than a proven failure

I addressed his other point about Levein, because I know nothing about Ian Cathro's credentials.

Surely we are willing to be ambitious with our new manager. Judging purely on the numbers I’ve heard the Rogers era has been some of the most profitable in our recent history. An extra million a year to a manager is a small price to pay to keep momentum going.

Moyes is by no means a proven failure. He's had ups and downs. Made poor choices of clubs at times.

I don't want him to take over, but to suggest he's a dinosaur and out of touch with the modern game, while defending Lennon. And to suggest Kennedy would be less of a gamble than a guy who has been managing for 20 years and had numerous personal honours down south.

    Well, it's ridiculous.
