Fair enough if he isnt yer pick for the job.

But he started the run of titles we are on, he managed us through death threats, being assaulted, did a far better job than both managers either side of him and took over without a moments thought when we needed him and is unbeaten with us so far.

He might not be one of the glamorous names in the mix, but he certainly deserves massive respect for what he has done for us.

The player and medical team share the blame as well for me.

Lennon shouldn’t be picking him for the next 2 games due to them being dead rubbers but if Kieran wants to play the historic final and the medical experts say he’s okay to do so then fair enough.

NEIL LENNON has blasted Rangers for failing to pay tribute to his champions with an Ibrox guard of honour.

The Celtic boss hit out after Gers rival Steven Gerrard confirmed the eight-in-a-row title winners won’t be applauded on to the pitch at Ibrox.

Lennon insists the snub is a disappointment – claiming Celtic would have done it had the roles been reversed.

He said: “It’s a break from tradition. I think we would have done it if the shoe had been on the other foot. But it’s not a major issue.

It would have been a touch of class if they did it. I’m disappointed they are not. Celtic would have done it.”

Lennon insists Gers’ refusal to afford Celtic a guard of honour won’t act as extra motivation for his players

He added: “You don’t need any extra motivation for this game. We’ve had all the motivation for the last eight years and we are still going strong.

“The motivation is to go out there, play well, play strong and win the game. That’s your motivation

You are the champions, so play like champions. That’s what I’m expecting from the team on Sunday.

The mentality of this team has been fantastic. Yes, they’ve had a few bumps along the way and people can’t wait to chip at them.

“But their consistency has been remarkable, to the point where they are eight trophies down with the opportunity to win nine out of nine. It’s incredible.”

NEIL LENNON has claimed he gets abuse from Rangers fans because they FEAR him.

Lenny lit the blue touchpaper on Sunday’s Old Firm showdown — his first back at Ibrox since returning as Celtic boss.

He insists he’ll savour every second as he revives his role as the man Gers fans love to hate.

Lennon confessed: “I’d much prefer to be playing. But do you get a kick out of it? Yeah, you do — because you know they fear you.

That’s why you get all the abuse. If I was just a run-of-the-mill player, they would just disregard me.

“I just think there is a certain element of fear within them when it comes to me.”

Lennon secured a vital 2-1 win over Rangers in March, a result which all but secured eight in a row for the Hoops.

Celts finally sealed the title with a 3-0 win at Aberdeen last Saturday.

The Hoops boss knows Steven Gerrard’s side are gunning for revenge as they look to make it back-to-back wins over Celtic at Ibrox.

Lenny added: “The last match against them was a great game.

“It was obviously different because I was only a few weeks into the job, but I thought it was a really good game that ebbed and flowed.

“There was good quality in all the games. We had the upper hand in the first one, Rangers in the second one

“We were better in the third, and * knows what the fourth one will bring.”

Celtic are champions, while Rangers have already secured second place.

But Lennon has dismissed the notion that the encounter is meaningless.

While he doesn’t believe the outcome will have any bearing on his hopes of landing the Celtic job for keeps, he knows both teams will be going all out for the win.

Lennon said: “It’s not a meaningless game, but I don’t go along with it having any bearing on next season.

It is just for the here and now. It will be two teams going hard at it again. I’ve no idea what it will mean for me.

“I’ve been hearing this all the time — you’ve got to win the first Rangers game, you’ve got to win the semi-final, you’ve got to win the league, blah, blah, blah.

“Whatever happens at Ibrox will have no bearing on my future

    Christ almighty.
I'm not convinced Lennon is the man for us at all. But if you're the likes of what's on my side then I'm up for re-evaluating everything.

Lenny is just having a wee dig back at them ,it stokes the passion , do I believe we would give a guard of honour , I would like to think not , I don't want it being nice ,it's cringy as fek and not wot this fixture is about and never will be ,they should give up trying to whitewash over it ,they stand for the opposite of everything we believe in .

Would we * give them a guard of honour.

Not even sure why this whole saga has been newsworthy. Guards of honour are a load of pish. It was never going to happen in a game like that, and quite right.

We all love that aspect of Lenny...

If only he had the game management and tactics of Fraudgers ...there’d be no questions to ask of him.

We need both attributes for the next two years...

Maybe Lenny needs a better assistant when it comes to tactical knowhow.

Been reading this thread for weeks watching the same old arguments getting recycled over and over and over. Dunno how yous do it man, repeating yerselves as if it's goanny change opinions haha. Yer aw mental :84:

Anyway, oor Lenny being appointed permanently would be a bit of a backwards step, purely for the way we as a club are seen around Europe. I think the professionalism the likes of Rodgers has far outweighs that of oor Lenny.

But that said, by * he takes no * off the press, and can wind they * * fae govan up to a frenzy. It's * magnificent :56:

Under Rodgers we were a joke in Europe, cannon fodder to any half decent side

Lennon will get us back to the level we should be at :lenny1:
