You could always post some gibberish to avoid answering the question. A GIF to ridicule the poster rather than address the issue would probably be more style.

Did I accuse you or any other poster of hating Lennon?

I've tried to debate my point with out ridiculing other posters but if that's your style crack on.

The immediate aspirations are to perform better in Europe and reach last 16 tops, as for winning a euro trophy thats the ultimate aspiration which we should accept is, relative to sides with tons more £, better players and bigger squads is unreachable

I've already tried the evidence-based approach. You weren't a fan of that either.

He wasn’t ridiculing you. It was a response to my post about the fact that we can’t win. We can’t criticise Lennon without some people becoming incredibly defensive and almost desperate in their argument.

When people start bringing up the fact he was the manager that signed two future Champions League Finalists, or nit picking fixtures and saying that he beat Hibs when Rodgers didn’t, or that he won the Championship with Hibs despite only being 1 point better off than the previous two years which were against harder opposition, the argument becomes comedic.

Nobody actually has a problem with people wanting Lennon in. It’s the arguments being used to justify his appointment that are being ridiculed.

    He’s untouchable to some people.

You literally called us the Anti-Lenny brigade because we disagree with you.

To highlight the desperation you had to avoid blaming Lennon. Simple as that.

I would consider you in the anti-Lenny brigade as much I would consider myself in the pro-Lenny brigade. Is that a problem?

The initial post in the conversation did not have the word Lenny or Lennon in it. You were the first to introduce it

What evidence as regards Lenny and Izzy? That's what this was about when you interjected or what it had been changed to at that point.

Has Lenny offered Izzy a contract extension?

So if I am trying to shift blame from Lenny. The blame for what? This is the crux of this conversation. If you can explain what blame is attached to Neil Lennon regarding Izaguirre and a contract extension then I might understand where you are coming from.

Looking at the poll on this thread, it seems the majority of folk want Lennon back. I wonder if that's the case with ST holders

Not really. If it was a straight choice yes or no for Lennon you could say that. If it was a straight choice between Lennon & Rose, before he moved elsewhere, I think Rose would have got a majority.

We would need to see an actual shortlist of managers before saying he's the one people want.

If it was between NL and Arsene Wenger, for example. Or NL and Moyes the 151 votes would either dramatically fall or dramatically rise imo.

I'm not in any brigade :giggle1: I'm not "against" Lennon. I would rather we go down a different route first. There's a difference.

You get offended when you think people are ridiculing you, yet you want to be patronising and post definitions in an attempt to make someone look silly.

Has an imaginary manager offered Izzy a contract extension?

You're the one that was blaming someone that doesn't exist, you're not getting my point but I'll say it again.

I WAS HIGHLIGHTING YOUR DESPERATION TO BLAME ANYONE YOU COULD EXCEPT FROM THE MAN THAT COULD ACTUALLY HAVE A SAY IN IZAGUIRRE BEING OFFERED A CONTRACT.

It was simply another example of the madness in this thread. That's why I quoted it. If you weren't serious we have nothing to worry about like I said before.

We should remove managers who have moved elsewhere from the poll and see where the votes for then go. That would be interesting.

    Why ?

I think we have already established you are in a minority of one in thinking Lenny getting the job or not will affect season book sales so why labour the point ?

My initial post was tongue in cheek a fact that I have pointed out after you replied. It's hard to believe that someone could take it seriously with the phrase "Move over Ajax there's a new sheriff in town" after they just made the CL semi.

So we have changed from "shift the blame from Lennon for offering Izzy a contract?" to "EXCEPT FROM THE MAN THAT COULD ACTUALLY HAVE A SAY IN IZAGUIRRE BEING OFFERED A CONTRACT"

Ok I get it. I'm desperate to shift the blame for a fictitious contract offer to a fictitious manager who is going to get us the the Champions League final next year. In the case we refuse to give this imaginary manager the job I can always blame him for anything negative associated with Neil Lennon.

I'm due back at Hogwarts shortly so I'll have to leave it at that

Edit:I'm not being serious about Hogwarts
