He did have to make 5 saves in about a minute against Alloa though :56:

Stats say 2 saves the entire game.

A Celtic keeper shouldn’t be making 6 saves at home imo.

The 2 in 7 is likely pretty common for us seeing as we’re superior to every team in the league and teams play with 11 men behind the ball most games.

Even if it was more than 2 saves they were all from one solo attack the entire game.

They weren’t breaking through us continuously and testing Bain like what was happening just 2 games ago against Kilmarnock, so I’m not sure that example shows we are more solid now than we were previously.

I think it shows your stats aren’t top notch mate.

Just like your analysis of our defence being more solid :giggle1:

2 saves, 2 blocks by defender.

Not that it means anything to the debate of whether we’re more solid or not.

You think Cosgrove is the worst striker in the league? Goodness, that's an interesting opinion.

OK, probably I haven't explained very well, so I'll try again:

There are all sorts of factors involved in how many chances a team creates. That Barcelona team with Xavi, Iniesta and Messi didn't give many chances away, because they had the ball almost the whole time; but after Puyol retired, they weren't really known for being solid at the back.

It took a coach of Brendan Rodgers' ability half a season to finally put a run together, so we're clearly not as dominant as the first season. With that being the case, everything needs to click for a run like that to happen. The manager leaving with 2 days notice and taking Chris Davies and some of the sports science guys with him is an event that is likely to stop everything clicking. Unless we had brought in Guardiola or Klopp, you would expect that run to end.

Our best defender by far this season has been Boyata. The amount of times guys like myself and Gyp who don't like him have nevertheless had to admit that he has been excellent has been galling. His dominance in the box and his tackles have been a feature of this season. Shortly after Lenny arrived, Boyata stopped being available and we have been playing Simunovic, who defensively is not as good or dominant (though he has more quality as a ball player).

KT is really struggling and when he has played, he has looked a shadow of his usual self. At times we have had to play Izzy there. You've seen for yourself how Izzy is now.

Add in the fact that we no longer have the best coach we've had in my time watching Celtic and probably the best manager since MON and all of this means that you would expect us to be less dominant in games and indeed we haven't. This has an effect on how many chances teams will create (see above)... as you would expect. Actually it has been less of a disruption than I would expect, so I'm personally quite impressed; but that's a different debate.

None of this is mutually exclusive with appreciating the work that Lenny has clearly put in on the back 4 and saying that it looks more solid now. It does.

Could be, to be fair, I genuinely missed the Killie game you’re talking about mostly so could just be that :56:

Think Ajer, Jozo and Bain’s been excellent lately though, along with Lustig. Can’t wait till Tierney’s properly fit again.

Think we’ve looked much, much better at set pieces and that’s impressive because it’s been without Boyata. Who was the only * who could header a ball under BR.

Where you getting these stats from btw?

Selling Bain short there, I make that 5?

First one right at the start, second in the melee, 3rd was a defender, 2 at the end? 4 sorry.

    * knows, ripped apart there by Airdrie but

No. James Wilson, the one who had several goal scoring opportunities.

You keep posting all these long paragraphs that have * all to do with anything and don’t make any relevant point. You said we were more solid, that stats say otherwise. Then you started making excuses for us actually not being more solid because we don’t have Boyata and Lennon was just in the door. Then people aren’t being fair comparing the stats to ones under Rodgers that actually show we were more ‘solid’ under him.

Look we get it you want Lennon as manager no matter what. But constantly shifting the goalposts when others post stats that show we are actually worse is painful to watch.

There's no need to risk him whatsoever. It's beyond a joke now.
