    He’s lost that bit of fitness that saw him through. He was never the most dependable left back but worked well getting forward and link up play with Stokes or Ledley (I think) was excellent at times. Had a few good games with Sinclair but he definitely is done unfortunately. Cult hero Wee Izzy.

    Celtic are tracking Houston Dynamo centre-forward Alberth Elis, Emilio Izaguirre has claimed.

    The Honduras left-back is weighing up signing a new one-year deal with the Scottish champions but this week he announced he still hopes to get a move to the MLS.

    And Izaguirre revealed Celtic are looking at his Honduras team-mate Elis, who scored nine goals for Honduras in 21 appearances for his national team and also has been linked with a move to Fenerbahce.

    Izaguirre said: "Celtic have asked me about a few players from Honduras.


    They've asked me several times about Elis. Who knows? Maybe one day they will sign players from Honduras like me.

    "Honduras has some very good players, but the professional part of things is sometimes missing.


    Here at Celtic, here you have to forget everything else and be a professional for 24/7 and when you play in matches, you give everything."



    Elis, 23, has already netted four goals in just seven starts for Houston this season and has 26 in total after moving from Monterrey two years ago.

    He is a very good guy, that should be respected by our fans and precisely because of that we cannot have our last memory of him being he playing crap football, completely out of his depth as an undesired signing. Perhaps even him could notice that but our board and Lennon could not, and hence his "choice" of going to the MLS
