He has got a point though, Neil has had since the beginning of March and hasn't achieved anything like the success Super Stevie has had at the *-box over the last 12 months !

    Oooh hang on !

Roy Keane was an even bigger winner , check his league titles out to slippys, and then check how Keane's managerial career turned out , great players and winners dont make you a great manager .

NEIL Lennon has revealed that Ibrox is one of his favourite stadiums in Scotland and admitted he is looking forward to returning there as Celtic manager for the first time in seven years next weekend.

Lennon is sure to receive a hostile reception from Rangers supporters when he arrives in Govan for the final Glasgow derby of the season on Sunday.

However, the Northern Irishman, whose team won the last Old Firm game 2-1 at Parkhead in March, is undeterred by the prospect of crossing the city for the Ladbrokes Premiership fixture.

It’s definitely different going there with Celtic than Hibs,” he said. “It will also be strange not having that support at the back of the goal.

“But, you have to go and play the game, not the occasion. Play the game, play the opposition. So the mindset has to be right.

“It’s always a great occasion there. I like Ibrox as a stadium, believe it or not, and I enjoy going there. I look forward to it.

“I think it’s a nice stadium. I like that old fashioned sort of traditional build. The pitch is always excellent while there’s obviously always a cracking atmosphere. It tests you.

“You have to be tested in football, you have to be challenged and you have to be able to step up to that and thrive in that environment. I want my players to do that next Sunday.”

Lennon had a great track record at Ibrox as Hibernian manager – the Easter Road club won both their games there last season and drew earlier this term.

However, he is anticipating a far harder match next week against opponents who have shown excellent form in recent weeks.

“We did well there with Hibs, played very well,” he said. “But I think Rangers are improving. You’ve got to get the mind-set right and make sure you start the game well.

“I’m not going to comment on Steven’s season until maybe the end of the season. They’re doing quite well, though.

“But Celtic’s a different animal to Hibs. I think we’ve got some great players in the squad who play the big occasions very well. So I’m looking forward to that.”

Lennon was once dragged up towards the Celtic support at Ibrox after a 2-0 defeat by Rangers by his then manager Martin O’Neill.

He recounted the controversial incident as he looked forward to the last Old Firm encounter of the 2018/19 campaign this week.

“‘I’m not going up there,’ I said. ‘Aye you are!’ he said. I’ll just drag myself up next week!”

The BBC seem to specialize in * pundits. Lawrenson is * and has been for 20 years, ditto for Garth Crooks and who the * would hire Savage (who was mocked for his stupidity by his various teammates over the years which speaks volumes).

I like Lineker, Hansen was OK and Shearer is OK although none of them know much (or probably care much) about Scottish Football.

I hate to admit it but, over the years, I have found Souness to be an excellent analyst - he knows his stuff and talks with his head rather than his heart. If Liverpool or the Huns are * - he'll just come out and say so.

The odd one talks sense. Most talk pish. Souness hasn’t moved on from the past. He was a good footballer but he can’t appreciate any game, rarely has anything positive to say. He’s constantly having a moan about the modem game. He’s being paid to be that way too.

There's a niche for nice but dim people like Crookes and Lawrenson, though (well, in Lawrenson's case it's more "moany and camp but dim"). Just like there's a niche for smart and positive pundits like Neville or Carragher, a niche for smart-but-relentlessly-negative pundits like Keane or Souness and all sorts of combinations of the different kinds. It seems to make for entertaining television.

BT have introduced this "art form" to Scotland with "nice but dim" (McCoist), "smart but moany" (Stewart), "smart but angry" (Craigan) and "smart WUM" (Sutton).

The trick is to enjoy it without taking it too seriously. It's meant to be entertainment.
When guys like Sutton actually want to make a serious point, they are worth listening to, but it's usually quite clear when that is.

As for the English, they won't take Lennon seriously even if he lifts the 10. * them.

Rodgers Results under the same fixtures this season:

    Hearts (A) 1-0 LOSS
    Hibs (A) 2-0 LOSS
    Aberdeen (H) 1-0 WIN
    Dundee (A) 5-0 WIN
    Rangers (H) 1-0 WIN
    St. Mirren (A) 0-0 DRAW

Hibs (A\ 2-1 LOSS* Didn't play them 2x this season fairest way was to take last seasons result from this stage of the season
    Kilmarnock (H) 5-0 WIN
    Aberdeen (A) 4-3 WIN

    Wins: 7 Draws: 1 Losses: 3
    win%: 64 Points: 22

One clear winner yet supposedly Lennys not half the boss Rodgers is. Some celtic fans have short memories. If he wins at Ibrox and Hampden I think he deserves it, a safe bet who'll lead is to the ten and bring back the thunder on the European Stage with Rodgers foundations and Lennys shrewd signings. Plus the huns will have a meltdown seeing the big man lift the ten hahahaha

No point denying Lenny is a downgrade on Rodgers.

Where have I said that? All I'm doing is proofing Lenny has done a very good job.
More like there's no point denying Lennys done a very good job since coming in.
Interested to see who you'd appoint?

He's done well, with some terrible performances thrown in 0-0 with Livi at home a particular low point. Schooled by Clarke tactically too.
I've always been open minded with Lenny and now the title is wrapped up we may see something different in the last couple of games.
Lennys initial comments about the changes at Lennoxtown since his time there still resonate with me. He's was in awe of the setup. I want someone who can build on that, someone who can take us on again. Not plateau or stagnate.
If he gets the job I'll support him 100%, but it would be an unispred appointment.

Some of the performances have been poor I'll admit but it has been that way all season. It is a results driven business and on that front he has done very well considering the circumstances he took over from, injuries and the time of the season.
For every Rodgers there is a Paul Le Guen, a Ronny Delia. Realistically who can we get of Rodgers stature? Lennys a safe bet, he'll lead us to the ten. I don't think the huns are a million miles from us anymore, an unknown manager abroad is a huge gamble and something I'm not sure will sit too comfortable with me. Especially if we get of to a slow start.

It doesn't have to be a PLG or Ronny, I wanted Wagner but looks like he'll end up back in Germany. A lot of the links are unrealistic but Clarke isn't and I'd have him before Lenny. Be interesting to see what he would do with us.

Doesn't have to be but it could well be. Wagner would be a risk in my eyes. Look at Huddesfield now. Clarke I think is Scotland bound but wouldn't mind him either tbf, would he even come? Seen hes been quoted saying Killie is the only club he'd manage in Scotland. Rafa or Rose be class but we won't get either. Realistically we're more looking at options like Moues, Lambert, Alex Neil...
