i just want the board to show ambition just like when rogers was appointed and dont want lenny as manager sorry ,
if we want the ten in a row then a manager who has a high stature and the board must back him as were so close now to ten in a row and the fans wont forgive the board if we dont push the boat out and we have the 9 million for rogers leaving so expecting a top coach to come in .

Bilic is doing the rounds again, if it’s between him and some * like Moyes then I know who I’m wanting. I still want Lennon to get it, but his body language and the way he’s talking sound as if he knows he isn’t getting it.

    Since the winter break?

    Airdrie (home) -win
    St Mirren (home) win
    Hamilton (home) win
    St Johnstone (home) - win
    St Johnstone (away) -win
    St Johnstone (home) - win
    Kilmarnock (away) win
    Motherwell (home) win

Brendan Rodgers leaves and Lenny take over.

    Hearts (away) - win
    Hibs (away) - win
    Aberdeen (home) - draw
    Dundee (away) - win
    Rangers (home) - win
    St Mirren (away) - win
    Livingstone (home) draw
    Aberdeen (away) -win
    Hibs (away) - draw
    Kilmarnock (home) - win

Even ignoring the fact that Lenny clearly had the tougher fixtures, this is not a dramatic loss of form.
I just looked at it and those 8 games are literally by far Brendan Rodgers' best run all season. It took him a long time to put that run together and he and Davies * off is exactly the kind of thing that can derail that kind of run.
Let's try a fairer comparison: the whole season up to when Brendan Rodgers left:

    Livingstone (home) - win
    Hearts (away) - loss
    Partick (away) - win
    Hamilton (home) - win
    Rangers (home) - win
    St Mirren (away) - draw
    Kilmarnock (away) - loss
    St Johnstone (away) - win
    Aberdeen (home) - win
    St Johnstone (away) - win
    Hibs (home) - win
    Hearts (away) - win
    Dundee (away) - win
    Hearts (home) - win
    Livingstone (away) - draw
    Hamilton (away) - win
    Aberdeen (Hampden) - win
    Motherwell (away) - draw
    Kilmarnock (home) - win
    Hibs (away) - loss
    Motherwell (home) - win
    Dundee (home) - win
    Aberdeen (away) win
    Rangers (away) loss

    Plus all the above

    Brendan Rodgers this season: W25 D3 L4
    Lenny this season W7 D3 L0

Some of these games were cup games, but for the sake of the mathematics, we can assign points as if they were league games:
Rodgers: 2.44 points per game on average
Lenny: 2.40 points per game on average

This is not a massive drop in form. In fact, it is almost miraculous TBH. It's actually even closer than I imagined it was (and I'm someone who wants Lenny saying that).
Let's look at this: one of the best managers domestically in our modern history (let's not bullshit here, we all know he was) with all his coaching staff and almost 3 years to build his own team and instill his own ideas has an average points per game this season just 0.04 better than a man with a totally different footballing philosophy, who took over with 2 days notice, not knowing most of the players except as opponents, players who had just lost their leaders (let's not underestimate the loss of Chris Davis either!) and with no opportunity to get players in or take them away to Dubai for a couple of weeks to at least start to get his own ideas across.

That is actually pretty impressive in the cold light of day.

So he's not set the heather alight, did he ever really have a realistic possibility of doing that?

Any debate is futile. I'll leave this here: people can draw their own conclusions.

    Celtic (under Rodgers)

    Points: 63 from 27 games (2.33)
    Goals scored: 64 (2.37)
    Goals conceded: 15 (0.56)
    Goal difference: 49 (1.81)

    Celtic (under Lennon)

    Points: 18 from 8 games (2.25)
    Goals scored: 8 (1.00)
    Goals conceded: 2 (0.25)
    Goal difference: 5 (0.75)

So Rodgers was better in every aspect except defensively ?

It's the lack of goals that are worrying people. You can argue about points or wins at this ground or that ground but the football on show is the reason people don't fancy him.

If he had came in and we had a few games where we scored 2 or 3, except against 9 men, then this thread would be completely different. But we've struggled badly in that aspect. Plus the fact we've just had a manager that almost won the EPL with Liverpool for the 1st time in about 20 years(?).

Some people feel like we should be aiming for that level of manager again.

To call them Lenny haters is nonsense.

He can afford to, that's all he'll be getting for Christmas this year.

You have to look at more than the win/draw/losses to compare the two. We’re stumbling over the finish line and it was a sudden change once Lennon came in. That’s just fact and it’s there to see watching the games.

@Random Review makes some good points. But it’s ignorant to think that we haven’t gotten worse since he came in. I’ll say again that’s bar the cups, he’s been able to get us up for them. We weren’t in a state when he came in, our manager wasn’t sacked. It was a dream situation for him to step into, strong team, strong position in the league, still in the cup and in good form.

I was making points the other day to people and they were straight up ignoring them because, I’d assume, they had no explanation for it. I don’t think it’s snide or people lacking logic, I think people are just sick of repeating themselves and hearing the same arguments. I know I am.

For the record, I actually think we would still have scored 2 or 3 against Aberdeen in that game even if they had 11 men. We looked well up for it from the off. Which makes the rest of the games even more frustrating.
