Think he was knocked back for a work permit that’s why he’s back on loan in America.

He and Calmac have been run into the ground. Playing unnecessarily at times. * disgrace really....

I'm all for shutting KT down for the rest of the season, getting him whatever surgery may be necessary, and making sure he recuperates fully, to ensure that he has another 15 years of top level play to look forward to.

My only wish, is that we can find a way to include him in the Cup Final squad, he deserves to receive a medal; and I believe only the Final matchday squad get medals.

Anyone know why he wasn’t at the launch tonight?

KIERAN TIERNEY is set to go under the knife when the season draws to a close.

The Celtic star has found himself in and out of the team this season through injury.

And the 21-year-old will now undergo a double hernia operation which rules him out of Scotland’s Euro qualifiers against Cyprus and Belgium.

Tierney missed Celtic’s 1-0 win over Kilmarnock on Saturday and hasn’t featured since the Scottish Cup semi-final win over Aberdeen last month.

But boss Neil Lennon confirmed the full-back had returned to training and is in contention to start against the Dons on Saturday.

He said: “Kieran is back in training and is in contention to start. We’re just managing him through it right now.”

Thought the recovery time would be longer tbh

Pleased it's not. If it had been though, I'd like to think we'd have sent him out for his OP now so he would be fit in time for the CL qualifiers.

Why even bother starting him on Saturday? Just give Church a go.

Wouldn't play him again this season if he's needing an op, pointless putting him at risk.

If he can run a bit and tackle a bit get him in the team, we've a league to win at the weekend. Can't watch Izzy and Sinclair together again :(

Kieran is training so he’s in contention to start,” said Neil Lennon. “He’s had advice from the specialists. We’re just going to manage him through now until the end of the season. I think it’ll be difficult for him to go with Scotland.

"It’s a case of managing him on a daily basis at the moment. When the season finishes and he gets the surgery the better it’ll be for him going forward.

“He’ll be out for around three to four weeks following the surgery so hopefully he would be back in time for the qualifiers. It’s a double hernia ,so that needs fixing.
