Spurs have has a 10million quids bid REJECTED (BBC) for Pavlechenko.

Well that's it official, he ain't coming!

 

But a team like Bayern judge thinks on trophys won. And what happened in the champions league and then uefa is unacceptable to a club of that stature.
They expected huge things and he wasnt a big enough talent to bring on people around him.

 

its too rich for us I am afraid, although one of the big reasons they gave was Spurs were not a step up so i dont see them thinking Celtic are.

I am part of a team at Parkhead that deals with commercial promotions on behalf of Celtic and the other day Gordon Stachan and Mr Lawwell had interviews with three players with a view to signing for the club. As I am friendly with the club receptionist I managed to get a bit of information from her about the three players and potentially afourth on the horizon.

The three players are Matteo Brighi from Roma, Timothee Atouba from Hamburg and Martin Stranzl from Spartak at this point I do not have any info on fees or length of contracts thefourth player due in for talks is Racing Santander and Ploish international forward Ebi Smolarek.

I'm not saying that they will be signing but they have been at Celtic park for talks, on the way out are Gravesen to Stoke, Riordan to Burnley, Balde to Hull and Sno to Osasuna

For the record I am a Hamilton Accies fan and not a Celtic Fan, a job is a job.

Football rumours is * mate, I think if any of them had been at celtic park somone would have seen them, to be honest.
But I suppose they are realistic targets, Smolarek is an interesting one, much better player than what was on show at the euros.

Not a chance we will get pavluychenko.....it was a paper rumour and unlikely that we were in for him anyway....hes reportedley on £50k per week in russia.

It's not even a case of whether he would or wouldn't come to celtic. It's mor a case of celtic won't pay the transfer fee or the wages.

just a little update.
Our press relations officer has stated that there was no official bid from spurs so the rumour about £10m rejected appears to be false. The only contact made was there scouts wishing to attend the derby with CSKA.
the only official bids we got so far were from some greek club apparently Panathinaikos and some premiership club other than spurs in the region of €7-9m that will obviously be turned down.
so dont believe everything you read in the english press.
as for the current rumours italian Roma have apparently joined the queue after failing to get Huntelaar
