There’s simply no planet in which Lennon is the best manager we can get when we we’ve got £50m in the bank and just had a manager that was on £2.5m a year.

One things for sure, if he wins the treble then serious questions would need to be asked if he given his P45.

For me, if we can get a better manager in.. as tough as it may be that’s exactly what we should do.

For me I don't know if we could afford the type of manager that some people are shouting about on here without a massive dent in a team improvement budget.

And even then, how would we be able to hold onto him if he's successful?

We won't have those issues if we hold on to Lenny.

While I agree with that in principle, part of me knows that we're just setting ourselves up for another Snake scenario if we go that route.

Maybe I'm just blindsided with Loyalty, but I just think Lenny deserves this, even more so if he wins the Treble.

I think it’s important that we look to change the overall structure.. have a DOF, Head of Recruitment and then subsequent coach to put in place that allows us to continue to dominate domestically and be effective on the European stage.

An ethos that doesn’t change but evolves with the game. If we were to put that kind of structure in place then we could recruit managers and if they were successful, have no fear about losing them to the EPL or whoever, as the structure would remain the same.

Watford for example, recruit and lose managers like players and it doesn’t effect what they’re trying to achieve in the longterm because they have a clear vision and structure. That’s what we should be trying to.

@angusceltic67 and @JC Anton ......you're both making valid points. All i've said in here is if there's a standout guy better than Lenny then we need to look at that!! However, i also believe that Lenny's been sold short a bit in here, he ticks a lot of boxes, deserves a certain amount of loyalty and may actually be the best man available!!!

Rodgers for us was a huge name and in my time only MON can come close. I actually get where @angusceltic67 is coming from with his snake scenario as well. We saw where this professing his undying love got us. Wasn't comfy with that for a long time and no it's not just hindsight!! I suppose with a foreign guy he wouldn't have that card to play!!

We won’t. We’ll find another manager. Why should it be different from players?

Go for the best candidate now. If that means they leave after two great seasons, so be it. I’d rather have that than settle for a lesser manager that might stick around longer.

Ideally that comes with a change of our footballing structure/philosophy and for that to be successful PL would need to relinquish his pseudo roles..

If we kept Lenny but changed to a DOF model and recruited an innovative one coupled with a fresh outlook on recruitment, I’d be satisfied.

If Lenny wins the treble and isn't offered the job ...he's gonna feel totally gutted.
I personally don't think this is for him and I'm not convinced it should be.

But I think it's his to lose.. the board have one * of a decision to make and not everyone is gonna be happy no matter what the outcome .

    Next season is massive.

Actually incredible how anyone thinks Lennon is a good choice. The man had his moments here originally but has done sweet FA in management since. Just look at the wretched job he did at Bolton. We sign Lennon, then Celtic will be lowering themselves down to Rangers like narrow mindedness. For starters, if he had stayed, Rodgers would never have been beaten. That is the standard quality of manager the board should be looking at, not the dour predictable team that Lennon will turn them into. Talk of him winning a treble? Well yeah, but how much of that is down to Rodgers contribution - snake that he is, we can’t possibly think Lennon could achieve the same as Rodgers who proved it time and time again. Give him a full season, I doubt he’d reach Rodgers levels.

The club will sign its own death warrant with a full time contract for Lennon unfortunately. Christ, is this really the height of ambition?

For the size of the club, and the finances of the club, we’re just not looking hard enough if we think Lennon is the best option.

Never one to gripe at fellow supporters for negative opinions about our employees, especially given my long long history of craig gordon bashing. But some of the language and opinions being bandied about in here are * shocking.

Firstly. Some "fans" here seem to have forgotten what NL has been through for this club, bullets, bombs, attacks on the touchline, not to mention the depression he deals with that was a directly linked to playing and managing this club.

Secondly, some of you have forgotten what NL's reputation actually was before he went to bolton. Ive never been so proud of a manager when i seen him sitting around a table at the inaugural lma coaches forum with what was considered then, the best and most experienced coaches in europe... including the snake. Lauded in european football by rival managers of barca, man utd etc. The praise he recieved and deserved for the absolute revolution of attitude and football that occured under him after the mowbary debacle.

Thirdly, the only "blip" his managerial career has suffered was bolton. And a genetically engineered jock stein/ jurgen klopp hybrid couldnt have saved that sinking ship. It was foolhardy and myopic of lennon to take that job, but hes a better coach for it.

Finally.... we should be on our knees kissong his * ginger bean bag for hole he is currently digging us out of. Any other side would have imploded and went down in flames after what the snake pulled on us. Its not pretty, its downright frustrating to watch... but some * are talking on here like neil lennon is * graham murty.

NL is NOT my first choice.

I dont believe he should be. That time has passed.

But * me some ppl on here need to get a grip on both reality and respect.

Must forget how NL ended his time here first time around. Every manager is going to move on eventually. See to be honest, I couldn't give a rat's * if anyone we get * off after 2 seasons, as long as we get the 10.

How much compensation did we get for BR ?

He gave us 2 trebles and left on the verge of a third, plus a hefty amount from Leicester when he did leave. But we shouldn't go down that route again ? Utter drivel.

We should be going out and getting the best manager available and backing him to the hilt to make sure we have a squad capable of CL qualification and fighting for another domestic treble.

We are on the verge of another historic achievement, now is not the time for messing about. The board need to spend.

People have become so psychologically scarred by what Rodgers done they’ll happily accept winning the league and the league only for the next two years by one point
