More of a shambles then a team going through via an offside goal?

The offside was decided in seconds. Granted it could be a bit more streamlined and I'm sure it will in time, but justice was well and truly done tonight.

Slowing down will always make it worse though but it looks more clear cut from that you've just showed..

It's my main gripe with it..

The emotion of a goal and first going game's is why I loved football. All this you can't cheer because you have to see if var confirms it...100% dilutes it for me anyway..

You could see what the ref was viewing the tv camera was on his screen , he didnt see that angle .

So are you still insisting (somehow) having watched that replay I have provided you , that it doesnt hit his arm , then hip?

Each to their own, but for me it’s slowing down the game and ruining it for fans.

So just because you didn’t see him being shown something on your tv then he wasn’t allowed every angle, and that video you posted on Twitter was filmed off the * tv, it’s not even the actual footage.

Aye, we’re probably in the minority compared to people i’ve spoke to which is fair enough, but it’s the stuff of nightmares that kind of thing happening at parkhead, people celebrating a massive champions league goal only for it to be ruled out minutes later.

That's incredible, I knew they had a decent scouting system, think Bale came through them? What I couldn't understand was how were they the only team to notice how good our players are. Ok Forster isn't doing to great I hear but I think Armstrong is working well as a sub for them.

However, I did not know they had that many top level managers and players going through their system. It's an amazing development club it sounds like but there is a part of me that can't help thinking if they're so good why aren't they ambitious enough to get into the top 4? I don't follow EPL for a while now but I know top 4 is sacred and how can they have so much talent only to pass it on to others?

Like, what are they going to do with £75m they got for Virgil? Plus Southampton is beside the sea on the South Coast so that's a good attraction for players who want come from a warm climate. I'm sure it put a lot of players coming here? Like Ginola or was that just the mad Bunnet making a comment without thinking haha. He'd have been much better here than Newcastle anyway.

Maybe stretching the OP topic a little but didn't Bale change the game in the first Final when Atletico played Madrid?

Was Matt Le Tissier a Southampton fan? The goals he scored for one individual will be hard to match in the EPL. Weird player, anyone else with that talent would become a World Class player but he treated it as if it was too easy. I'm sure his record of pens is 29/30, he really should've played for a top team but he didn't really seem to give a * which is quite romantic in itself, like being good is reward in itself.

Wonder what other players are like that, so good they could've played for the very best but stuck with their local team because loyality meant more than money.

    KT I hope :ynwacelti

Christ :giggle1: You can't argue against handball having seen that replay.

Still though, City deserve nothing so * them.

I don't think they do or they would have spotted that. During the game I thought it was a good decision and that it just hit his thigh, but having seen that replay I can see it comes off the arm first.

VAR is a farce if the referee isn't even getting the correct angles to make a decision with.

Haven't we been celebrating goals since football began only for the linesman to flag and the referee to consult him then change the decision? I've definitely felt that curse of human indecision before.

Same thing happened in Tennis, players thinking they've got Game Point only for it to be challenged and while they're still sure it was in Hawkeye shows it was 1mm out, a distance no human eye could judge at 120mph.

But it works and the closest we get to fair play, considering the rewards both financial and triumphant, we have to embrace it because wow there have been so many howlers.

Wasn't there a goal given recently where the replay showed the whole ball wasn't over the line?

My favourite through the years is when the keeper dives into the goal and scoops the ball away as if he saved it and he lands in the net :56:

I seen them describing it recently and the VAR ref is the guy beside all the TVs and he is the one who advises the ref to have another look so surely he must show him the angle that made him doubtful?

The on pitch referee didnt see the conclusive angle. His monitor was in full view of the tv camera the whole time and he kept getting replay of the orginal angle, watched it about ten times, and then a couple of the second angle. The third angle (conclusive) one isnt shown to the referee who makes the final decision. In fact the third angle wasnt even shown on the TV until after the game.

Exactly, the easiest way to make people think about it is when a huge decision goes for us while the Hearts fans are already celebrating cause they won a Final. How would we/our fans feel if VAR was consulted and is showed Naismith just stookied one of our defenders from behind when the corner was coming in.

It's just natural the team who benefits from such a decision no matter how much the other team is celebrating, you're going to be all for VAR when it goes in your way, especially if it's near the end of the game and a deciding decision.

Of all the referees and linesmen in the World Scottish referees should get it for free :56: Will just take ages them trying to rewind the VHS and find the exact moment :fear:

Hehe wait till they invent the software that can scan every game ever televised in a couple weeks and show us which decisions were wrong, there would be mayhem. Especially the England WC Final 1966 :nonono::56::RedFinger
