    VAR would've ruled out Joe Miller's winner in 1989 when Aitken took that throw-in.

    Too young to remember it myself but I used to work with a hun who used to bring it up all the time. 20+ years on and still feeling the pain.

    I'm no 100% on this but because he puts his foot out to intercept the ball and it goes straight to a city player then that's why it's offside..

    The same way if it hits off a defender that doesn't mean to pass it/head it back and a goal hanger well off sticks it in.....is onside..

    Basically your presumption is correct..

    Have you even seen the replays? If it did then it was minimal that’s why it’s not been overturned. And I take it you seen Laporte touching it also when leading with both hands trying to stop it.
