Next season is probably the biggest it'll be for us.

Wrong appointment and we could put 9iar, not even 10iar at risk.

It's crazy to think we will get anything at the level Rodgers is at and after Lennon I struggle to see who's realistic.

Let's just say the next manager is surely going to be divisive.

Know zero about managing us ..

Unless there's a change in our structure first there's no point recruiting an up and coming foreign coach. It's too much of a gamble..

If we do decide to go with a foreign manager this season they must have the strength of character to come in and work within in the confines of the Scottish game, whilst leading us to the 10..

If we can't get a big character with a proven track record and without a change in footballing structure, I'd rather we went with Lenny until the 10 is secured.

My gut says it's gonna be avb who remembers when Rodgers was asked.... He kept quiet

Hhe recent avb agent "u turn" suggests hes definitely interested in an offer.

I still think ges too volitile for the environment in scottish football, and it would only be a matter of time before him and lawell bumped heads... as he has with ALL THREE of his previous european clubs.

He can bump heads all he wants if he won us the Europa. Looking at the teams right now and I'd say we would have a chance if we wasnt so open Rodgers style.

I’d rather that than a yes man.

100% spot on. The only reason we've made progress is because Rodgers stood up to Peter Lawwell. He ultimately lost the war, but we got the invincible season and the double treble (possibly treble treble) in the meantime.

Go back to a Peter puppet like Ronny and Desmond will be watching the Hun director's wildly celebrating again.

Someone like AVB would be ideal.

I remember watching that on sky sports he was running a marathon for the northern Irish hospice lassie along the lines of “so Brendan there is the Celtic job becoming available, plenty in carnlough would love you to get that job” then Rodgers pauses, praised Ronny, said he was enjoying the time off but Celtic are a massive world wide club, never heard a thing again he was out at 9s and 12s then a month later the rest is history!

AVB would want a big budget? * forbid having a manager with serious ambition.

    The budget is there.

£9m odds sitting from the compo package for the snake and co, and let's just call it £30m for the sake of talking that COULD go toward recruitment.

If we end up with Lennon he'll be lucky to see £10m for transfers, but if the board have any balls they'll need to use the £9m for staff, and they'll have to use a substantial amount of the monies sitting.

Time for us to really go and push the boat out and emulate the domestic success that spending substantial money has brought us for the last 2-3 years. Unquestionable.

Ultimately PL will call the shots and all we will have is a disgruntled manager who will be given no money. Unless we employ a manager as the CEO and then ask him to run the team then we need someone who can work with PL

Thats £9million we should already have in the bank to replace Boyata. The snake has already cost us every penny of the compensation we received along with a possible place in the CL group stages and another extra 30 or 40 million

My point being the board were willing to spend £40k plus per week on Rodgers' wage, they can do the same for the new man, plus there's an undeniable £9m sitting to spend on the rest of the recruitment of staff.

There's no hiding we CAN afford quality, whether it will be spent on a manager who is WILLING to come is another story.

One thing's for sure, Lennon won't be given thw same kind of "warchest" another more high profile manager might, not a chance in *...

Sorry mate. But youre way way off imo.

No one wants a yes man. Obviously.

But are seriously suggesting that manager whose spent no more than 2 seasons at all 6 clubs hes managed, a manager who has accused chelsea, spurs and zenit of lying to him, a manager who studied under mourinho and then stabbed him in the back, a manager who has fallen out with players, a manager who constantly blames budgets for his failures, a manager who couldnt win the * chinese superleague with the best squad and superior budget (60m on oscar alone), a manager that has been called a liar and a fantasist by chairmen of his previous clubs, a manager who openly offered mccoist chelsea loan players to stop celtic, a manager who record has more statistical failures than successes, a manager who utterly spunked 120m at spurs on duds that cost him his job...

This is the man for us?

Too many people are getting carried away his name and not his record... which is atrocious considering the budgets hes had.

When the snake came to us he still had stock in the english game as a progressive manager with an attacking philosophy who was unlucky not won the title.

Avb is viewed as a * disaster zone and an egomaniacal deflector.

Hes more a snake than the * snake who claims to love us.

He would be an utterly disastrous appointment.

It was fling * at the wall, we weren’t allowed anything more than £2m, that’s the hit and hope market. Astounds me that we would have vetoed Van Dijk if he had cost £2.1m.

I don't dispute your point about us having the money I'm just highlighting the fact that the snake already cost us the compensation we got for him and his team. In reality it was just another * you rodgers post.

AVB won four trophies in one season at Porto, including the Europa League and an invincible league campaign. First Spurs manager to win at Old Trafford in 23 years. A record points total and highest win percentage by a Spurs boss in the PL. lost out on CL by one point. Won 3 trophies in two seasons at Zenit, including the league title in his second season. Lost the title by one point in his first season. Plays exciting attacking football.

    Get him to Paradise.

Record revenue and record profits. What a disaster Rodgers was for us financially.
