Fair enough, but if you think Celtic could afford to spend £45 million/£25 million/£30million on transfers back to back to back for 3 years your mental.

If we did, boy, we'd be looking like a different animal.

Bearing in mind because we get undercut in player sales as well. If Demeble, VVD, Wanyama or even Forster played as they did for us but in an Ajax shirt your adding on £15 million.

We could spend like Ajax, but by * are we getting anything close to what they are able to sell players for.

I mean we sell VVD and Dembele for less then £20 million, they * sell Davison Sanchez to spurs for near £40 million.

Just about every manager we have been linked with us a rumour unless Lawell stands on the steps outside the main stand and says he turned us down which will be followed by the statement after extensive and exhausting searches and interviews we decided the man for the job was here all the time step out Neil Lennon

I'm sure you've heard it all before but I never really had a doubt.

I posted facts. You're desperately moving the goalposts around to try and give backing to our board's penny pinching approach. You really have swallowed Lawwell's nonsense hook line and sinker, haven't you.

We made more profit than Ajax last year, we had more revenue than Ajax last year. That's the result of Desmond forcing Rodgers on Peter Lawwell and the money that generated. But once Peter Lawwell started playing it cheap again in the summer we failed to qualify and had to sell our best player and not replace him.

Meanwhile, Ajax invested money and are now in the last eight of the CL and have made tens of millions.

But hey, £40 million in the bank for the rainy day caused by keeping £40 million in the bank.

They posted a small, small profit what did they post the season before compared to us, sure there is one recent season they posted upwards or close 49 million euros, something I don't think we've ever come close to.

    16/17 Celtic posted £6.9 profit
16/17 Ajax posted the £ equivalent of £42ish million.

EDIT, my point here is that, even with Ajax spending over £100 million on player transfers in the last 3 years are still posting something that is classed as a profit is not what we are able to do.

We spend £100 million over 3 years on player transfers and we'd be broke. It's a sad state, Celtic can only do so much in Scotland in terms of developing their youth and then trying to buy low and sell high.

Isn't that the guy who is actually the caretaker up at Lennoxtown?

Would certainly be a 'left field' appointment in any case.

Celtic always claim that their goal is to always to keep improving. Nobody can deny that Lennon would be a backwards step from Rodgers, a really unambitious and unimaginative appointment. Ask any fan of another Scottish club who they want to see as Celtic manager and they will tell you Lennon, I think that says it all.

I’m moving the goal posts? I think I’m giving you answers you don’t want to hear tbh. Ajax have sold assets for way more than us and have more TV revenue, but aye we made the Champions League two year in a row let’* the town. * get a grip!

So, by investing in Rodgers we created record profits and record revenue.

I wonder how Peter's penny-pinching summer strategy will have affected our revenue this year?

And yet, despite their assets and their TV revenue we had higher revenue and profits than them last year.

That is categorical evidence of what can be achieved if you invest money in the team and team management rather than hoarding it in the bank.

Yet you used Ajax accounts from 2017/18 to suit your agenda, which was basically their accounts from the previous year. You honestly don’t know what the * you are babbling about. As I said if you think we can match Ajax’s spending from the summer then you’re delusional, but then again you could always have a word with your director pal instead of posting * on here. And I’ll await you posting Ajax’s record results next year compared to ours.

Ajax got £40m for the likes of Sanchez because he played in a Europa Final.

Compare the price he went for compared to Vertonghen, Eriksen, Alderweireld...

Ajax invested this summer in Blind and Tadic because they knew that they’d be getting big money for De Ligt and De Jong.

If the Celtic board came out and said they were signing similar players because we were going to sell Tierney and Ajer next summer there’d be riots :giggle1:

Aye not just that mate, he is using the numbers that suit his argument but doesn’t want to give credence to any other evidence. Yes we would all love Celtic to spend big and mix it with our youth, but a bit of realism needs to be added aswell. This Ajax model does my * in every time I see it.

There needs to be questions asked why we have a bigger wage bill but they’re absolutely miles ahead of us.

People can talk about transfer fees and whatever they just do smarter business than us in and out.

There’s no way they’d have kept Boyata while being offered £9m. They’d have punted Rogic and Ntcham for big money instead of giving them new massive contracts when we already needed better players for Europe. They wouldn’t be even contemplate signing Johnny Hayes. They wouldn’t be thinking twice about letting Sinclair and Lustig go, Sinclair is doing nowhere near enough to justify the money he’s on and he’s 30. Lustig is done and we’ve needed a new RB for the best part of 3 years.

We just have no foresight or vision at the club and it’s holding us back massively.

Agree with all of that apart from I think Rogic has it to play in Europe for us. But we need a rebuild this summer that’s the priority, chasing dreams in Europe can wait for me. Though I do agree with Mini that Lawwell and a few others need hunted.
