    Lennon had tougher opposition?

If Rangers were the only 'real opposition', Lennon's only success came in the 2011-12 season.

(Oh, I forgot that we beat Rangers on the way to lifting the 2010-11 Scottish Cup, as well.)

Can you sit there in full confidence that Snake won't atleast come in a test the water for KT, McGregor or Forrest?.

Like I say it doesn't mean they will actually go but those three especially should be subject to some amount of interest and bids that may sway this board.

Ntcham is gone, the man is a shadow of the one we signed, he's head went after Dembele and the alleged Porto interest fell away.

Even given the benefit of doubt taking out KT, McGregor, Forrest and Ntcham. Our defence will still need a massive overhaul and we will be left with Thumb and Eddie as our only strikers and they have their issues with injuries.

EDIT: what any new manager inherits is a bloated squad, not a good squad as the quality isn't there to step in when our loans and players have been returned and sold.

Even then some will say it's because they were docked points we were able to claw it back and win the league in the end because how everything off the pitch affected the dead lot in the end.

I disagree, but still some will say it.

I would rather one CL last 16 in the next 3 seasons to 6 more cup runs and 6 consecutive trebles.

    My priorities in order are
    1 League title
    2 CL group stage
3 progression past the group stages.
    4 Scottish cup
    5 League cup

I don't know what peoples obsession on here is with cups and how we need to prove ourselves against hibs, hearts, motherwell etc. when we should strive to be at least on a par with Salzberg, Ajax etc.

Prefer a full trophy cabinet over flash in the pan European results and a bigger bank balance.

Well, Hearts and Hibs should pose few problems if we are on a par with Ajax and Salzburg.

We don't have to choose one or another, do we?

Tbf, why would Martinez leave Belgium?

Even if we offered him a slightly better wage, he's working with one of the most talented group of international players and must surely fancy his chances of winning the Euros.

If he had been out of work it would have been more realistic.

Have a feeling we're going to end up with a serious downgrade on Rodgers.

We don't but some carry a lesser importance in my eyes. It's not uncommon and why in many countries the bigger clubs do less well in the cups.

Yeah, I can just imagine the crowds being full to bursting on London Road to welcome the "Last 16 in the CL" open top bus.

Ok so * Europe and the champions league. Lets rest our top players for the qualifiers and blood our younger players for a crack at the league cup.

    Doesn’t matter mate, we still didn’t replace a £20m striker with a £2m project

As long as Peter Lawwell is pulling the strings we will be a downgrading club.

If Chilwell leaves Leicester you can bet your bottom dollar that wee rat * will be in for KT.

Wouldn't surprise me if he makes a move for any one of McGregor, Eddy or Ajer either.

    * I hate that wee fud...

    No real domestic opposition?

2 out of Lenny’s four seasons contained no Rangers. A further season they were docked 10 points which made it easier for us to win the league. The other season we lost the league.

Lenny had very little domestic opposition for at least half of his spell, and still managed to have a woeful cup record.

Edouard was at the club at the same time as Dembele. He didn't replace him. That was just the spin put out by Lawwell to fool the gullible.

Dembele was replaced by a £2 million project. Great business in Pete's eyes. Regardless of the chaos it caused behind the scenes and on the park.

Aye, I’ve never thought Martinez as at all realistic, AVB on the other hand, possible if unlikely..

Main point is around agents and bookies too, don’t believe anything they come away with.

Ah, right. So who’s our main striker this season instead of Dembele?

I never believe bookies. But tbh mate, even though I don't like agents in football, if they are categorically ruling their men out well... I don't think AVB or RM will be the Celtic manager next season.

We're almost certainly going to be scrounging around the bottom tier when it comes to managers and coaches.

I've always said, and will maintain, if we have a squad fit for coming 3rd in the champions League, the odd 2nd place, basically a solid pot 3 team. Then we will have a squad more than capable of winning most trophies in Scotland. Certainly the league over the course of a season.

The treble treble for me this year is good, I want it, but I agree with you, European success is so much more important (after the league). Just now it's a nice motivator and if we finally get it done, it's a signal that we truly are the dominant team in the country. Even if we drop a cup next year, that's football for you.
