We won 7 before Lenny took over.
We are in pole position for 8 already - before Lennon took over regardless of what anyone else says.

    Fair enough.

I’ll stick with comparing the same fixtures across different times. You stick with comparing different fixtures across different times.

Nah I’ll stick with talking about what I’ve watched over the past couple of months. And that’s been a big drop-off in performance levels, strange team selections, stranger substitutions, relying on late winners in games we should be cruising, and dull 0-0’s at home.

Which has * all relevance to a game from September or October of last year.

    Going round in circles here.

Like I said - I’ll stick to making comparisons based on the same fixtures a few months apart, you can stick to making comparisons based on entirely different fixtures a few weeks apart.

If you prefer your way, more power to you.

What does that have to do with what I wrote? Rodgers won seven in a row, not Lenny. If Lenny could equal that we'd all be delighted with his record, yet we've got people on here complaining about Rodgers relative lack of effectiveness.

    Madness.

Why don’t we just appoint Heckingbottom then?

Yes and no, there’s stuff Rodgers is good at is a level above anything we could normally attract. However, there are aspects of football Brendan Rodgers will just never understand, and I think we can attract somebody that understands when to destroy a game and more importantly how to actually destroy a game.

Not the ultimate one for me but one I want to see a bit of steel and a win in.

TBF any manager we bring in that can win 7 domestic trophies in 7 weeks would be a definite upgrade on anyone we have ever had before.

I might be talking * here but I seem to remember his inability to change his formation and the way he liked to play (Like Rodgers in Europe) being one of the main reasons Wigan got relegated.
Can remember massive holes in Wigan defence because they liked to attack but couldn't defend.

The thing is with football and football fans, in general is.. a convincing win on Sun will put a different spin on things for Lenny..

It usually boils down to the will to do something, and persist in it. The 1. Salzburg game we played well, but only in the first half. 4-4-2, a defense that looked organized, and 2 strikers ready to break on the counter. Apparently, Rodgers didn't like the low possession stats and changed things.:31:

I think Lennon's original wonder team had the best balance of attacking and defensive ability.
Moyes and Clarke are viewed as very negative, but surely Rodgers and Martinez are too attacking?

    Fair enough.

His pitiful cup record, his outdated approach to football management, and a definite downturn in the quality of our performances.

He has accomplished nothing in the past five years or so that would merit his appointment - no other club in our position would consider him - but we have nevertheless given him an opportunity.

Hearts 1-2 Celtic (44' Hearts red card; 90'+2 winner)
    Hibernian 0-2 Celtic
    Celtic 0-0 Aberdeen
    Dundee 0-1 Celtic (90'+6 winner)
Celtic 2-1 Huns (31' Hun red card; 86' winner)
    St. Mirren 0-2 Celtic
    Celtic 0-0 Livingston

9 goals in 7 games; late winners against sides who played over 45 minutes with 10 men; a last-minute winner against bottom-of-the-table Dundee; two draws at home to Aberdeen and Livingston?

Lennon inherited the best team in Scotland by a mile. The results are ordinary; the performances... well, the less said, the better.

I have few complaints about Lennon as an interim manager - his remit is simple - but those performances and results have done nothing to change my belief that he should leave at the end of the season.

Maybe for some, but I’d say the vast majority of people who aren’t wanting Lenny won’t be swayed by a good result on Sunday. It’s Aberdeen, minus Shinnie. We should be beating them.

Aye, if it’s a catalyst to a better level of performance and triple treble with style, then it could be important..
