Higher profile doesn't always come with tactical ability. Some managers are way overhyped.

True, but most managers will tell you that it’s all about having the calibre of player at your disposal. And anything that can gives us that edge in quality makes all the difference..

Ideally we need a structure that’s ensures consistency and continuity whoever is the manager, a DOF with vision, Scouting network to reflect that vision and Coach to implement it.. that’s the change that needs to be made in our setup.

Lenny needs to start showing some tactical ability or he may not even be a safe pair hands for the shortsighted..

A better manager, profile probably not but I don’t think Lenny done to bad in getting guys like Van Dijk through the door before.

I think Martinez is absolutely * awful. I’d have Clark before him. Guys tactically * rotten man, absolute charlatan.

I can, yes. His best results with Wigan were against the top 4 sides in the league - sometimes on their own ground.

We've got to be ambitious. We have the money and platform to do it.

Benitez is my number 1 choice. If that's unrealistic then the next rung of candidates is the likes of Martinez & AVB. Both have their pros and cons, both might not fancy it. Martinez has always been complimentary of Scottish Football and will likely have a better grasp of it. AVB has the better CV and pedigree. Slaven Bilic possibly?

Below that we have the likes of Keane, Moyes, Clarke, Alex Neil etc. If we've reached that sort of level then I'd take Lennon ahead of them all to be honest.

If consistency is the key- then Martinez would be actually a logical choice, however this means we give up on Europe in a way. A naive manager who is all about "eye-candy football". With Belgium he had quality players, yet had to be saved by what some call a "carthorse" (Fellaini) after his primary tactics got him 2 down to Japan.
In Scotland, teams also play on the counter.

After an invincible season, and 2 (3) trebles, I want us to be ready to cause trouble in Europe. Kind of hard to do it with modern footballing ideas.

    Fair enough..

Would you rather Clarke than Lenny out of interest?

He did a good job at Swansea, Wigan, Belgium and Everton in his first season there.

I genuinely can't see how you think it's a strange thing to say he's a better manager than Lennon.

A manager who can vary tactics to suit the opposition shouldn’t be too hard to find.. Lenny may be that man, but on the evidence so far there’s got to be better out there..

Again, that’s not to take away how difficult it is to come in at this stage of the season..

Was always going back to the Bundesliga. As long as he's given the time then he'll do well at Gladbach.

My preference isn't necessarily Lennon, but I pick Neil over anyone tactically similar to Rodgers.

    Is Ranieri managing any club?

It should do but I think Lennon's in a no win situation. Many in our support have already deemed a Treble Treble as a shoe-in, others saying it'll be all down to Rodgers if we do. There was a young guy sitting beside me on Saturday saying Lennon should be sacked right now because our performances have been poor. Took all my self-restraint not to punch his * in :56:

If he wins the Treble then his hat goes into the ring but we should still follow a process to find the best candidate.

Not in the slightest. I wouldn’t want Clarke anywhere near us. I just think Martinez is one of the worst managers I’ve ever seen and his career baffles me.
