What are you talking about? Lennon was literally 6/4 the same time he was 5/1 on paddy powers.

Does anybody here understand the concept of implied probability? Putting Martinez to 1/3 means very little but when the other contenders are 5/1 or bigger, it becomes significant.

It’s really not, we should be able to achieve both.

    I definitely could yes.

I have my doubts about Martinez of course but I think he's a much better manager than Neil Lennon.

Paddy Power are a PR machine and a shower of * to boot. They know nothing. If the other Bookies were following suit there would be something in it but there isn't.

Celtic won't pursue anyone publicly until after we've tied the League up and our Scottish Cup campaign is done. To do otherwise would be foolish and counterproductive.

Maybe I misread it, are you saying he was 6/4 on paddy then pushed out to 5/1?

Better on the defense than Martinez. And in Europe we need that. Attracting players is only relevant if we can actually sign them, not just pile up loans. Also, we need experience more than youth.

Edouard, Dembele, Ntcham are all young players we’ve signed by having a coach with a high profile at the helm. We need to continue to be a place where players want to come and develop, this strategy is working well for us..

Don’t get me wrong I’d like to see more seasoned pros signed too, especially in defence as the balance of the squad has been lopsided with inexperience.

Not saying Martinez is the man, but a higher calibre than Lenny is required, imo.

And I’ve not seen anything from Lenny that makes me think tactically he can change things for us, domestically or in Europe.

There are two bookies offering odds, sky bet and Paddy's. Recently the biggest price available on Lennon has been Evens. Today he went out to 5/1 and you don't see how that is significant? Finally there's a bookie willing to take bets on Lennon at 5/1 and you don't think they know something we don't? You don't think they've discovered Lennon is not the desired choice at Celtic and that the board are looking elsewhere?

Why would it be counter productive to look for a manager as soon as possible before their head is turned by other availabilities?

I love Lennon as much as any Celtic fan does but if you take away that Barcelona game his record here doesn't look so rosy.

Like a few have mentioned, he seems in awe of what Rodgers left behind. We need someone who will want to implement their own ideas.

Well, at the moment we aren't playing in Europe. But when we were in Europe with him, we looked like a serious team. I suppose Martinez would be continuity of tactics. But it would be a bad thing for us in Europe.

Lenny has been good at setting up against superior teams, in general.. but we have to get to the CL groups to achieve this, playing teams of a similar standard to ourselves and it can become a bit of a lottery.

Whatever system we play, it’s mostly about the quality of the player and Lenny isn’t an attractive coach to work under for a player who doesn’t know much about us.

Winning the league is the main priority always, as this gives you a chance to compete in Europe. And don’t get me wrong the 10 is important..

However, to gauge where we are a side, Europe is always the benchmark for any quality Celtic team.

Noted, but it could be that he doesn't feel he has the right to make massive alterations without the safety of an actual contract that states he is the manager. Silly, I know.

I would pick him over Martinez, in any case.

I can sort of see where you're coming from he doesn't have the track record of improving players that the rat; but Lennon also managed to attract promising young players to come to us.

Hooper, Forster, Wanyama, Van Dijk, Kayal, Izzaguirre, Ledley all had other options on the table and chose us. All at a time when we were allegedly a less attractive option after Rangers were liquidated.

It's hard to judge Lenny fully. If you come into a failing team you can make instant changes, go into a flying one 2 thirds through the season and you cannot make too many if any.

That’s true, we had a better scouting network is place definitely..

We will always have a certain draw as a Club but a manager with a higher profile than Lenny will help too.

I was 50/50 on Lenny now, I’m now 30/70 and he will need to show a lot more from now until the end of the season..
