He jumps into the slide arms outstretched mate. It’s simple for me, make your body bigger with your arms and it hits off them then it’s a penalty. Especially when you’ve been well warned.

 

Utd - Liverpool would be unreal.

 

He didn’t need to dive in but wanted to make himself bigger and block the shot with any part of his body.

Unluckily for him he blocked a goalbound effort with his arm.

 

That is the rule. It's a penalty, plain and simple.

His arm is in a totally natural position and he doesn’t deliberately make his body bigger, that’s just a natural form for that kind of block..

I have been a defender. It doesn’t matter if he meant to or not, he made his body bigger with his arm, which the ball hit and deflected away from a goalbound shot. 100% penalty.

Do you think he’s not trying to make himself as big as possible to block the shot when it comes in?

VAR is what made it a "plain and simple" decision - the use of replays makes these decisions simple for the referee as oppose to having to guess.

Should be played full speed first and last..

 

Yep. He isn’t trying to block it with his arm at all. He’s actually lowering his arm when the ball strikes it.

It was just natural for his arms to be there when he dived in.

 

I don’t know what the speed has to do with judging if it made contact with his arm and what position his arm is in at the time. Slowing it down help judge that.
