It's arguable his CV is more impressive than the snake's.

    In fact, it is.

At this point I'd definitely take him and Villas Boas over Lenny as well :90:

I'm dreading Lenny getting the full time gig now if I'm honest..

Me too. At least with Martinez you don’t know what you’ll get. Could end up pish, could end up amazing.

With Lenny you know what we’ll get...and it’s not too exciting.

Every manager mentioned on here bar Marco Rose has been rubbished! Pistol Pete might just cut out the middle man and do it himself!

Martinez to me seems more like the kind of manager who does well at teams where there's not much expectation don't know if he'd do well at us where there is constant pressure.

Martinez would be a brilliant appointment, gets teams playing great football, has a lot of experience, plenty contacts for finding young talent.

And if you want to talk about win ratios just look at Strachans outside of Celtic.

Rodgers' Liverpool lost 6-1 to * Stoke, that's probably a worse result than a team fighting relegation losing by 3 more to a side who'd end up in the Champions League.

I mean Wigan also beat eventually champions Chelsea 3-1 around the same time, they ended up beating Spurs 1-0 in the same fixture the following season at White Hart Lane. I don't think it's fair to hold one result against him, no matter how disastrous it was.

Won 21 games at Everton his first season then 22 wins in the next two seasons, lost the most games from a winning position than any other Everton manager. He is an absolute abortion of a manager that has no plan b once plan a isn’t working, also doesn’t even work on set pieces in training according to various sources. I’m out!

Everton have been sacking managers quite a bit recently, even up until the last few weeks Silva was under serious pressure. They sacked Martinez who's ended up doing pretty well with Belgium, they sacked Koeman who's gotten Holland firing and did an excellent job at Southampton prior to becoming Everton manager. Maybe look at the way the club is run, their recruitment of players has been really poor for a while to be honest, always signing average players for quite a bit of money.

Can you imagine Lennon winning the FA Cup with Wigan?

Can you imagine him leading Everton to 5th in the EPL? Or even getting the Everton job in the first place?

I do get the concerns about Martinez (the same ones could be said about Rodgers too) but there's no doubt he's achieved more in the game than Lennon and is of a higher calibre.

Tbf mate, I did hear a lot of this about Rodgers when he was first being touted for our job.

Though he'd almost led Liverpool to a title in 13/14, they were mostly scathing of him.

I'll be honest, because of that, at the time I thought Rodgers was a gamble and that Moyes would have been the better choice :fear:

    Martinez :56:

Zero chance he’s leaving Belgium to manage us ffs.. he could live in Lanarkshire and still manage Belgium..

Lenny, Clarke, Wagner & O’Neil are the only realistic shouts on that poll..

    Moyes too..:fear:

Martinez backed into 2/9 tonight to be the next boss. Must be something in it to go odds on so strongly.

Still 4/1 on sky bet, I've had a little bet on it.
