There are several levels between Rodgers and Lennon. We can find someone there if we look hard enough.

Yep. Lennon is a massive step down. There’s a happy medium there that we should be searching in.

Mate, Desmond has set a precedent with the snake that there ARE resources there to get in *on paper* a top, top manager.

In fact, it's actually even more so now that there are TOP resources to get a TOP manager with the compo package we got for the trannie * and his minions.

Like I say, I love Lenny.........but his wee renaissance should only be lasting till the end of this season. Then we go get someone of REAL quality.

We should be looking at Wolves as an example. Santo has them playing exquisitely (albeit their resources inc contacts are out of this world right now compared to us) but * it man, must be able to put your finger on a map, look at a country *say Portugal* and look at the teams/tables/stats and see what managers are performing the best. Sound out an offerto club and agent, see if he's interested, and see if the deal works within the confines of your agreed recruitment budget.

    * it, tell Desmond I'll pop along and do the job for him, find a decent manager ffs!

Right, I've wittled it down to 3 candidates who are *I think* realistic, and would do a great job here.

    1 - Rafa Benitez.

It's true he doesn't play the most stylish of football, but * me the guy has won La Liga, Champions League and a Europa League. He's getting * about at * Newcastle, and if things don't go well enough from now till the end of the season, I'd be looking to take a punt at him. Would easily school fudnut Gerrard, and his unquestionable success and experience in Europe would be something that would surely be attractive toward us. Out of the three here, he's the least likely, considering I think he'd rather stay in England, and I'm surprised he's only at Newcastle tbh.

    2 - Phillip Cocu

Vast experience over a glittering club and international career, he's won the Eredivisie *I think* 4 times with PSV. Usually sets up with a 4-3-3 formation which is ideal for us and the players we have at our disposal, plays decent attacking fitba, but also has a bit of that unadulterated Dutch tactical knowledge for defending. Flopped at Fenerbahce but * they smelly * anyway. Free agent the now *music to Peter Lawwell's ears* and would come with a vast array of contacts (especially good considering the Dutch leagues aren't tapped into enough, and Dutch or Dutch-based footballers generally transition well enough into Scottish fitba, give or take a few duds like Boeriggter and Konterman etc)

    3 - Abel Ferreira

Currently managing 4th placed Braga in the Portuguese top flight, 4-4-2 magazine has him placed as no.44 in the best 50 managers in world football today.

Praised for his tactical versatility, devotion to high tempo and good eye for game-changing substitutions, he finished the 2017/18 season in superb fashion and has started the new term even better, taking a joint-lead with Benfica ahead of Porto and Sporting with seven matches played. – Michael Yokhin

That's good enough for me in all honesty. Albeit Braga are in a far better league than us standard-wise, I don't think he'd cost us the world in terms of compensation (currently we have an extra £9m odds sitting from Fraudgers and co's package to Leicester that can go toward it).

Seriously needing some fresh blood in terms of management, one that can give us a more continental feel to our footballing standard on the park. A young, hungry foreign manager that we could offer potential CL and plenty of silverware to, plus a springboard to a bigger club in 2 years after securing the 10iar is seriously worth pursuing.

Cocu was in ma top 3 with rose and Benitez. Would definitely go for him if Benitez isn’t going to happen

What happened with Cocu at Fenerbahce ?

Was looking through the lost of free agents and seen his name. He must have some decent contacts throughout the world, obviously plenty in Holland. I think he would be an exciting appointment.

The boards lack of ambition is more of a concern for me than the next manager choice. Whoever gets it needs to be seriously backed in the next 2 seasons to secure the ten. After that they can tighten the purse strings a bit but * up any of the next 2 seasons and we'll regret it for a very long time.

Any of those three would be fantastic. What a summer we would have with transfers etc.

Guus Hiddink is the only manager who has averaged more points per match in the Eredivisie than Cocu.

He would be a fantastic appointment, I imagine.
