    Actually, no.

It wasn’t even meant to be used as evidence to support his case for the job, at least not in its entirety.

It highlights the fact that their domestic records with is this season as very comparable (except for Rodgers losing to Lennon’s Hibs), and the suggestion that they’re incomparable as managers is way off the mark. The stick he gets seems a bit unwarranted for me, given how his results measure up favourably against Rodgers, and the idea that he was only mildly successful here first time round demeans the rebuilding job he did, which was quite incredible in reality. As desperate as we are for new signings this summer, Lennon’s task was much greater, and he accomplished it so exceptionally well.

You could say Rodgers european record is more padded because of the extra qualifying round.

Another point is Lenny had to rebuild an entire team and once they became successful the sales started. Rodgers relied to they end with a core of players from Lennys and RDs team yet managed at the same time to rocket the wage bill.

An interesting point is the first game after the transfer window shut the snakes starting 11 consisted of only 2 players he himself signed. That was the hun game so probably his strongest 11 at the time.

In Lennys 3rd season his biggest game was Barca home in which the entire team and subs bench were players he signed or came from the youth. Missing but still a key players were Brown(WGS) but also his signings Hooper and Izzy.

I don’t think folk are giving Lawwell and Desmond enough credit.

The reason they’re succesful people is they’re aware of what’s going on about them.

Keane and Moyes would empty the stands faster than the Sash blaring over the tannoy. Neither are going to happen.

Keane would have the last time he knocked the job back as well. Desmond would love to have him here.

We said the exact same things last time. All I’m saying is - Desmond would love it.

I think when it comes to these decisions that Desmond sometimes overrules Lawwell and the whole process mate, he certainly has before on some of our appointments and signings even.

    I don't doubt he would..

I don't think it'll ever happen now though..

It really would be self imploding getting him in..

So why is Doofy using Lennon vs Heckingbottom’s record with Hibs an ‘unnecessary shitpost’? If it was in Lennon’s favour no doubt you’d be all over it.

Be no different to any other deal he makes, it’s all about timing.

If he thinks Roy Keane is a manager never mind a manager of Celtic he needs serious help.

You could argue that the previous seeding system in the Champions League group stage pads out Lennon's Champions League record.

    Lennon's Champions League groups:

    2012-13

    Barcelona
    Benfica
    Spartak Moscow

    2013-14

    Barcelona
    Milan
    Ajax

    Rodgers' Champions League groups:

    2016-17

    Barcelona
    Manchester City
    Borussia Mönchengladbach

    2017-18

    Bayern München
    Paris Saint-Germain
    Anderlecht

Benfica and Milan were significantly weaker second seeds than Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain.

Lennon's recruitment was better than Rodgers', I'll give you that.

    True.

On paper the last gasp Barca win in the Camp Nou reads the same as the as the 5-0 loss at home to PSG. As a fan though I personally felt we were more competitive under NL. I had hoped when the snake came first we would start to achieve that status where even top teams knew getting anything from us in Parkhead was a bonus. If anything I feel after 3 seasons and supposed big improvements(well the wages would suggest this unless we are grossly overpaying some players) in the squad we have become more vulnerable at home.

Combining each managers 2 seasons in the CL which did you feel we were more competitive under?

Comparing in Europe is tough aswell it's not just as black and white imo

We had better players then , wanyama, vvd etc that's why sometimes comparing even domestic stats can be glossed over.

For me lennon is a safe option , knows the club inside out etc but id rather try get somebody else to try kick us on in Europe.

I wouldn't be unhappy with lenny but think we should push the boat out , easier said than done though.

Surely that's all the more reason to compare?
