Well said Lenny. I get the feelin the snake would not have came out and basically rubbished slippys comments.
Good to have a manger that calls it as it is and doesn’t fritter around the edges, especially with clearly bonkers statements from the uglies and ridiculous citations from the lamentable SFA.
NL speaks up for us when there is s clear agenda against us where other managers have been too diplomatic.

Spoken like a true leader ,exactly the strong hand needed to guide our club , he hit the target with every comment just like larsson did with the ball .
He was calm and firm and didn't get drawn into anything that redirected his focus , Lennon s teams will always give 110% there has never been any doupt about that ,he has learned to keep the heed a bit better, and for me had his first stint team playing a great attacking style in his first 2 years ,this is where it started to change for him ,we regressed and it showed in our play ,will he accept lack of funding If given charge this time ,judging by his presser he calls it like it is ,I'd like to think he is the same person when dealing with our power brokers .

Neil Lennon ordered Steven Gerrard to keep his nose out of Celtic’s affairs and concentrate on cleaning up his own act

The Celtic boss delivered a scathing response to his Ibrox counterpart’s claim the Hoops are playing ‘the victim card’ over the fall-out from last Sunday’s Old Firm and Scott Brown’s role in a host of controversial flashpoints.

Brown has been hit with an SFA charge for ‘not acting in the best interests of football’ and the Northern Irishman believes his skipper is being used as a ‘scapegoat’ to deflect from the Light Blues disciplinary issues which saw two players red carded.

Alfredo Morelos and Andy Halliday were both sent off and Ryan Kent being had been hit with a retrospective two game ban for lashing out at the Parkhead midfielder but Lennon’s priority was to take issue with Gerrard’s comments earlier this week.

Gerrard said: “Neil Lennon will say what Neil Lennon wants to say. His assistant will say whatever he wants to say. If they want to play the victim card, that’s up to them.”

Those comments lit a fuse under Lennon who launched a furious rebuke

He said: “He needs to look after his own business. What Steven should be talking about is the lack of discipline in his team.

And the lack of discipline his players showed and the lack of respect for the game, not bringing myself and John Kennedy into it.

“We’re just calling it as we see it.

“He has no right to use that inflammatory sort of language. I’m not happy about that. It’s there in black and white.

“It sounds to me like someone is winding Steven up from the back.

“‘I have been attacked on the street, so I have been the victim of assault.

“I have been the victim of people sending suspicious packages and throwing coins and I was assaulted in a stadium. Apart from that…

‘People say I bring it on myself. That’s their mentality and I feel sorry for those people.

“As you know, I’ve a lot of respect for Steven but I haven’t agreed with anything he’s said this week other than that we’re the best team in the country. It was the only semblance of rationality I picked up from his comments. Apart from that, I disagree with probably 90 per cent of what he has spoken about since the game.

“I didn’t see him after the game. I thought he might have come in but he might have had other things to do. Of course, he was invited.”

Lennon also labelled the SFA’s charge on his skipper for celebrating in front of the Rangers support at full-time as an attempt to drag the Celtic star into proceedings and believes it’s reminiscent of an Old Firm touchline rammy with Ally McCoist back in 2011.

He said: “They have to find a scapegoat to vent their frustration at the defeat or their feeling of grievance about what happened. You can’t behave the way they behave.

“It’s very reminiscent to the incident with myself and Coisty. On that night Rangers had three players sent off and that was lost in all of the kerfuffle about me and Coisty.

“Three players sent off, two on the pitch and one after the game.

“The same thing has happened again, three players sent off and Scott Brown is being blamed which is absolute nonsense.

“There is no common sense in that. It’s an isolated incident and an attempt to apportion blame on an innocent party and to mix it in with other aggressive incidents.”

The Hoops boss was “100 per cent” surprised that Rangers chose to appeal Kent’s suspension.

He said: “It was so blatant. My only surprise is he got two games and not three.

“It was violent conduct, whether it be a punch or....you just can’t do that, and again Scott Brown is said to be the antagonist or provocateur, and he wasn’t at all.”

Celtic will fight Brown’s charge by accusing the SFA of double standards. The furious champions will use the case of Josh Windass as part of their defence after Brown was cited for celebrating the win over Rangers in front of away fans.

Windass escaped punishment for making a rude gesture to Partick Thistle supporters last season after the SFA’s rule 200 - which deals with retrospective action for on-field incidents - was changed to remove punishment for gestures towards the crowd.

But Brown has been charged under a different rule – 77 – and Celtic want to know why Windass wasn’t held to the same standard. The case will be heard on May 2.

The manager said: “My players have been exemplary, absolutely. They are under immense provocation themselves.

“Scott Brown has nothing to defend himself for.

“His treatment on the pitch was nothing short of disgraceful. He’s been elbowed, he’s been hit in the face but he takes it, he stands up to it and he comes back for more.

It’s the character of the man.

So you get the usual nonsense, trying to put the eggs in the same basket.

“We’re totally exempt from this blame

If any further evidence was needed, there you go.

Appreciate him for helping us when Rodgers * off, but he's not good enough. Papered over the cracks one too many times since he's came in. Today he didn't have that late goal.
