I think we are playing a knock-off version of it. Similar ideas, just even slower and more boring.

I'm very worried about the two Hampden ties

When he was shouting on the touchline saying give it to Burkey I kept getting Jimmy Grimble flashbacks "Give it to Gordon, Give it to Gordon!" :giggle1:

Maybe yeah. In saying that early in the season we were quite pedestrian under Rodgers, until Christie broke into the team, funnily enough

The Aberdeen game will be a massive test always felt really confident going into games at hampden under Rodgers but we're not playing well at all and Lennon doesn't carry that same invincibility Rodgers did.

    Brutal performances yet effective.

I think it's time Lennon took a more hands-on approach and started implementing his own ideas.

The potential 2 ties at Hampden were already going to be nervy without us on a run of some sloppy football.

Christie being back should definitely help. Same with Benkovic.

Whatever the fix is, we need to find it because we're going to come a cropper if we keep playing this lethargic, slack play and letting teams into games after we've started well.

Christie’s energy in midfield is key to us playing well it seems. All of our best football has been when he’s played.

Can’t legislate for Ntchams penalty miss, we win by 4 or 5 if we score at that time..

However, it’s a concern that we’re struggling to kill games off.. saying he hasn’t changed anything is a bit of a cop out tbh, he clearly has.. and it’s always going to take time to get the best out of Rodgers team..

But, now he’s had long enough to put his own stamp, and if this is his stamp it’s fairly effective but in the same breath uninspiring..

In terms of results, it can’t be argued and it’s always easy to ship points after a victory v the scum especially playing someone fighting for survival.

Neil Lennon on #STMCEL: "The chances were clear cut, and we’re very pleased with the win. You always need the second goal, and we had to wait a little bit longer for that than I wanted to, but it’s a great three points. We know we’re two wins away from another title

NL: "We had quality chances, it wasn’t like at, say, Dundee, where we had to wait until the 96th minute to win it. Tonight, we created a number of good chances, and if there’s any criticism at all, it’s that we didn’t win the game by a bigger margin, we were in total control."

NL: “If we’d scored the penalty, that’d have put us up two nil before half-time and we would have been in cruise control at that point. I think there are times where we overplay in games, and that’s not a massive criticism, but I just want to get us over the line.”

    NL on
    @ryanchristie2
: “You can see how he affected the game, there’s a spark and he brings a level of creativity, a little bit of pizzazz, he can go past people, he’s well-balanced, he’s got a real enthusiasm for the game.

There are two things happening here: Lenny is trying to get the team over the line in the league; and he is auditioning for the permanent manager's job. I think the first is getting in the way of the second, but considering the quality of the football we're playing at the moment there is no chance Lenny should be given the job.

That and McGregor as the deeplying playmaker, dictating the tempo..

It can be difficult to know how we should judge him when we don't know the criteria for him getting a permanent appointment or if he is even in the running for that. If he's told go out and win as many games as possible and secure the cup then he is fulfilling his brief.

There’s one thing happening here, Lenny is trying to make sure that Rodgers departure has as little effect as possible and so far he’s doing that very well.

No, he's also auditioning for the job. The way he's behaving at trackside and behind the scenes it's clear as day he's on his best behaviour.

Aye those 2 were a great partnership in there but I can’t see Brown being left out for that to happen again.
