But they’ve still been massive additions to the first team.

Lennon is clearly the man for you and you’ll make any excuse to support that.

May as well leave it at that.

I missed this. No Lenny can't bring on a player. VVD and Wanyama might disagree

Edit:This part i missed " two players who’d never have came through under Lennon"

Van Dijk and Wanyama were signed.

Forrest is the only player he brought through from the academy.

What players have come out of the academy in that time and proved they were over looked by him? He had McGregor out on loan so he may have seen something in him.

For those adamantly supporting Lennon, what would it take for him not to get the job?

Losing at Ibrox? Losing the cup?

For me, he has to win at Ibrox and has to complete the Treble if he is to be considered. If he falls short on either of those (or * forbid, both) then he simply cannot be a credible front-runner for the job.

Don't get the reluctance over a foreign manager tbh we've had 3 in our history and they won 3 out of 4 titles not to mention Jansen won in the most high pressured title race we'll ever have if they're the best candidate then it doesn't matter.

Maybe if he’d given more players a chance they’d have developed.

Don’t worry though, you can call me out when Lennon wins us that European trophy...

I think that might be the criteria and part of the reasons the football is so uninspiring when he is going to be judged on results rather than performances.

Would he be a more suitable candidate if he had 100% record for the rest of the season rather than maybe drop some points but play attractive football and hand out a couple of tankings?

We are also judging him with the snakes team and trying to slowly adjust the style of play. I think Lennys team would have more steel and the players would tend to back one another up more often as is already becoming evident. We also could take into account we have someone who will call out the cheats when the ramp things up the closer we get to 10IAR

Someone who wants us to dominate domestically and win a European trophy but wants Lennon as manager?

    Yes that’s funny.

For me it is about results and performances. I'd give Lennon credit for coming in and winning important games. But it should be remembered, he did not inherit some kind of car crash. He inherited a side, 8 points clear in the league, having already won a cup. A side that had won every domestic match since the December break - with having conceded only one goal in the process.

Why does he have to change Rodgers' approach to the game? That style and professionalism brought us 7 consecutive trophies and numerous derby hammerings of the Klan.

Tbh Lennon's comments before he got the job about Lennoxtown being totally transformed under Rodgers really alarmed me. The least we should expect is Rodgers' standards being maintained. In fact, why should Rodgers' professionalism be a source of awe at all? Shouldn't that be the bare minimum we expect? My concern is that under Lennon, standards will drop to the point we're nearly on par with the Huns. In fact, given what we've seen so far, it does seem like we've already dropped off from the Rodgers era - which is a real worry.

And yet there is a catch-22 attached to this whole process. I actually don't fancy a foreign manager at this stage (unless he is really proven) as that would be too big a gamble with 10-in-a-row just in sight. So in that respect, I can understand why Lennon appeals. He is seen as tried and trusted. I suppose my problem is that, I'm not entirely sure he is tried and trusted. He's by no means the worst candidate out there, but he's not the best either. It's a real dilemma.

Lennon didn't see it in McGregor. Even after his loan spell. Been long established Ronny came in, saw something many of us, me especially and Lennon included did not and gave him a chance he was not going to get under Lennon.
Ive always been critical of Ronny but the chance he gave McGregor at the time in his career has turned out to be a monumental addition to his legacy. If Lennon stayed on, McGregor would have been sent out on loan or sold into the the lower leagues on the back of his loan and Brendan would never have had the chance to develop him into our most important player.

You’re getting boring now. You think Lennon is the best we can do, then claim you want us dominating domestically and winning a European trophy.

    You’re contradicting yourself.

You clearly don’t have any ambition for us as a club if you think Lennon is the best manager we can get.

Deny it all you want but I can’t be arsed debating with you anymore.

For me the team was in decline before the snake slithered off. We were having serious trouble away from home having already lost away to the monkeys in reality we were humiliated with a trip to hearts and Hibs on the horizon. We had already lost away to the monkeys in reality we were humiliated. I actually feared us having to travel to Edinburgh looking for a result.

I judge Lenny mostly on the improvements he made in the team and himself as manager over his first 3 seasons here. The final season he had the heart ripped out of the team but by the turn of the year we starting to fire on all cylinders.

The unanswered question for me is if Lenny had been give the transfer surplus and a small portion of the Cl money to replace the players sold and strengthen other positions how would we have fared in that 4th season. Interestingly shopping in the bargain basement we still uncovered VVD.

As for professionalism we heard plent about that when RD came. better diet better training and a much fitter team. What though did we see. A team tiring in the 2nd half, losing leads as opposed to a team who were always good for late goals.
Give me heart and commitment over the snakes professionalism every day. We are not going to punch above our weight in Europe trying to outplay our betters we will do it with hard work, fight and commitment something I hope Lenny will bring

Answer the question. Do you want us to win a European trophy?

A simple yes or no will do.

This has literally summed up the views of the situation.

Don’t particularly think Lennon is the man to take us forward but he is at least tried and tested at the club. I don’t think he is the type of manager who will lose the dressing room, especially as he has a good relationship with Broony. But i’m also slightly worried about the risk of bringing in a talented manager from the left field with 10 in a row on the horizon. It’s a tricky one.

With the league in the bag, he has got to win the cup in order to give me the confidence that he may be the right man for the next two seasons.

Agreed but that's mainly due to how * Scottish league is and also how badly the SFA * up the tv deals.
If it were a more competitive league it would bring in more money which in turn would help Celtic invest in better players which would then make them more competitive in European football.
